Pretty sure they can just change the key via firmware and then either have publishers release patches for the new key or bundle them into a combined firmware. Wouldn't take as long or as much money as some people complain.

what a lonely life that is. why bother playing games today without the ability for online multiplayer

@beonewiththegun apples and oranges guy, unless you want to clarify the comparison between modifying an engine to increase gas mileage and transmitting confidential code knowing that theft is a consequence.

Pretty sure this guy and the team that cracked the PS3 knew that piracy was going to result from their discovery. It'll be hard for them to prove they have the brains to hack this console, but not to think of the consequences. Besides, the real damage will be done in legal fees until there is eventually an undisclosed settlement. Sony wins either way.

Either way its good to know you people have a cross hair on your back. Oh and the whole home brew thing is just an asinine reason to open the floodgates to piracy and cheating. I'll report anyone I see with this blackboxFTP 1.2

Huzzah

Why can't Sony just fix the signing keys in a new firmware and have developers release patches for all of their games simultaneously? Shouldn't be to hard, but I'm limited in knowledge to this stuff

For some reason the word of a hacker doesn't seem believable. If they didn't want rampant piracy, they wouldn't have made their find available to everyone.

@Blaze929 I disagree with your tone lately. I don't understand the technical aspects of this hack, but anyone can see this is bad for the gaming community as a whole. It also seems too convenient to be true that after four years of unsuccessful hacks, the end-all-hack pops up out of no where.

@cobpswii3600 Huzzah! Bubbles for you sir

I like the list, but I think the multiplayer should include a mission editor as well as a game type editor. The editor should also be versatile too (the ability to make everything from bank robbery missions to zombie survival missions).

@darthawesome90 Yes! I want my tank. One of the best parts of GTA for me was wondering what the tank would look like and then finally getting your hands on one.

Also, every GTA borrows heavily from movies like the ones you listed. Go back and play Vice City and watch for Scarface references.

Or it will look like this

No more than 3 days until "Sony hack killing Patch" headlines flood N4G as always.

5629d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

@Chris399 True that, but it's wasting resources and man power that could have gone on to improve the PS3, improve games under development, or development for the next Sony system. Imagine if Microsoft was able to divert some of its time and energy to fixing that whole RRoD event instead of their ban hammer. Every time these hackers win, we all lose something in the long run.

5629d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

lmao I've never seen anyone do that before

True, I don't recall seeing any mystery slots on the PS3 and there are so many different SKU's now that I doubt there would be a "one-size-fits-all" expansion if it were true. Takes me back to buying Majora's Mask with that red N64 expansion though.

I agree, I can't take a nomination list seriously without GOW3 on there. Also where is Reach? X-Play has the gall to put up NBA 2K11 but neither of the two games that happen to be the best for both systems this year? What a joke.

You forget we Americans have a mystical power called extreme credit card debt. Christmas is one of those times of year that we "must" spend money we don't have.
