I like how the "Opinion:" part of the title was just chopped off when it was submitted to N4G.
Bill Gates riding a giant xbox dragon
Always liked this one the best
Article reminded me of the song at the ghost town in the first Pokemon games. I can't really remember it, just that it sends shivers down my childhood spine.
The world feeds off bad news unfortunately. I'm not too worried about Nintendo because I believe I saw that they have a large cash reserve. They can afford years like this, but not too many and at the risk of losing investors.
@Lucretia The Hunger Games? The book was decent, but way too melodramatic. I suggest you check out Battle Royale (the book). I agree with Dexter S4 though.
They would have to control costs since a price hike after a slash is out of the question, but that is much easier said then done. Even then their profitability will still most likely rely on software sales. It isn't a bad model (Amazon's Kindle strategy is very similar), but they have a lot of work to do this coming year.
The net income portion of the statement is their profit, which is negative. This includes all revenues, costs, interest payments, taxes, etc.
Also, Nintendo didn't slash jobs, but they sold a lot of assets this year.
This financial statement just screams bad news. Why did they issue 100 yen dividends if they were expecting a loss? I don't know how they plan to post a 200% increase in net income in one year by relying on 3DS sales (which they state they sell below cost) That means that Nintendo is relying on its software sales and late-in-the-year Wii U sales. Even then, their own projected sales figures don't seem to be enough to break even.
I understand setting target sales lower than actual expectations, but this is maybe too pessimistic. A combined 10.5 million Wii and Wii U sales target(misleading title by the way)? I wonder if investors are going to see this and run for the hills.
like what?
Dang, I never get into any betas. Let us know how it is though.
I liked the story in Dante's Inferno, but comparing it to GOW is like comparing jello to creme brulee.
I like the idea of actually losing a vehicle or piece of equipment in battle instead of being able to call in as many as you want or wait for a respawn. It will feel so much better taking out a tank and so much worse losing one.
The consoles are nearing the end of their life cycle. These people should know that sales of a product typically resemble a bell curve and all this data tells me is that we may be entering the downward sales slope. Flamebait article.
If this is true, then here we go. I'm still expecting a May 2013 release date to buffer my disappointment if and when they begin announcing delays. Thank god for Max Payne 3 next month.
Statistically this is true: Murder rates rise whenever ice cream sales rise. Just by looking at the numbers you'd have politicians wanting to ban ice cream, but it actually has to do with the time of the year (hotter months cause both to rise at the same time).
Didn't they ban the burka in France?
Apple and Nintendo would make more sense since a majority of households with Apple products also have Nintendo products.
Right? My brother and all of our friends used to have LAN parties which are crap now trying to play each other at the same time on the same internet connection.
