Not really. Walmart is a company focused on global penetration, but if you look at Target or Kroger they mainly focus on the North American region.
It's a bold, difficult, and expensive strategy to implement correctly.
"The past is not a prediction for the future."
It's not a perfect predictor, but I guarantee that Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo use some type of regression analysis along with hedonistic pricing to forecast future sales and identify areas for differentiation. All based on past performance.
Haha
"Dude, Billy had sex with Jane!"
"So what? Billy can't even quick scope."
@ 4:15 - "On a game...on Em Doublyoo Three...There was...FIVE GUYS...in a straight line...I WAS RIGHT THERE...I USED a sniper...quick scoped them..."
God help the future of humanity...
Or look at any of EA's recent 10-K filings with the SEC. They'll have most of their sales data for all platforms in their usually.
All digital would work in a handful of areas, but I can honestly say that only a small population here in the US would be able to enjoy such a service. I'd say we have to match South Korean speeds for this option to be viable, but that will take about 60 more years.
Rights are fine, but forcing publishers and developers to offer ways for consumers to sell digital content is going to be a logistics burden that costs them money that will be passed onto the end consumer.
Wow, another European court making an anti-business ruling that will only drive prices up for consumers...that is until they start regulating the prices for games too...but then there will be no games for Europe after that
You all forgot one.
VHS -> LaserDisc -> DVD -> Blu Ray
"Play games for extended stretches of time without interruption"
God I wish more job descriptions had that in them haha
I wonder what 1998 Squaresoft would say if they knew they'd still be releasing this game in 2012.
Meh, makes sense. Most of the industry growth is in the social gaming sector and now we're at a point where the core games market is over saturated with developers/publishers. The industry itself isn't "crashing", it's going through a reconfiguration.
Agreed. Story telling is something that can be and should be improved with the current generation of systems and I'm not sure how people think new consoles are going to help make a game more innovative and intelligent without first improving graphics, mechanics, and physics.
You do realize it's that "greed" that pushes these companies to stay competitive and offer bigger and better things right? Nobody works for a living just to receive a pat on the back.
I can tell you that the game will look a whole lot better on my consoles than on my computer...mainly because my computer can't even handle solitaire anymore
I'll swap birth certificates with him if he's serious
Yes, we should feel sooooooo honored to even receive any version of Battlefield 3. Seriously though, wanting them to improve the player count is a very reasonable demand
Understandable that developers and publishers want to wait to make their big announcements. Competing with so many other huge announcements could potentially take away the impact of making the announcement during a slow news day.
I may be wrong, but I could have sworn Crytek claimed that they would never develop exclusively for PC again due to the first Crysis being a top target for piracy.
I was just thinking that. I had to Ctrl+F to see if anyone else thought that too haha
