A fun but pretty flawed reboot.

I was hoping for Gato, honestly. But still, Rock is a fantastic addition to the lineup.

My thoughts exactly.

The comparison is due to the fact they're both Genesis beat 'em ups, with SoR being the console's flagship brawler.

@Dark_Knightmare - My point was the vague statements such as those pepper the entire review, but these thoughts are never expanded upon. The review doesn't mention just what makes these characters better than in previous iterations of the series, or how the dungeons themselves are better crafted.

My point is it reads like someone commenting on popular opinion without actually having experienced the title for themselves. That, combined with a litany of sentences stopping...

I just can't get over those beefy, detailed sprites. Been eyeing this game up since it was first unveiled as Project Y, and I can't wait to see it finally delivered later this year. Got my $150 LE with the arcade stick pre-ordered!

I wouldn't pass judgement on that. Reading the review I'm not entirely sure I believe the reviewer has even played the game. The way the review itself reads I have a hard time imagining ATLUS furnished this publication with code:

"If you liked the characters in Persona 4/3 then you’ll adore the characters in this game because the characters in Persona 5 are better then the characters in Persona 4/3 in my opinion."

"The dungeons in ...

Cool looking game. I'll have to check this out. I've been itching for a quality Metroidvania title to dive into.

Sounds like a solid fighter.

Sengoku 3 is a favorite of mine actually. Love the combo system quite a bit. It's definitely a game I keep in my four slot's lineup.

I reviewed that alongside its release :D I agree, it was a really quality beat 'em up with a killer soundtrack. Love how brutal all of the weapons-based kills were. And that strip club stage is absolute insanity.

AVP is a classic, for sure. I had the PCB years back but swapped it for Cave's Ibara. I'd love to get it back in my collection one of these days.

As good as it is, I think a lot of Capcom's other brawlers edge it. Punching Xenomorphs and Weyland Yutani thugs in the face just isn't as satisfying as leaving piles of punks and mobsters twitching on the pavement.

It's definitely up there, that's for sure. I've probably played through it a few hundred times since 1992!

That's for sure. Personally I dig it, but I do feel like it's missing a little something that made the other games so special. Namely, the four main dungeons are a snore, and a big step back from the previous games in the series, both thematically and technically. They all look the same, and the dungeon-shifting mechanic is boring and feels superfluous.

But I can't stress enough how awesome the open world is. BOTW's version of Hyrule is an absolute joy to e...

Now that would be nice. Loved how unpredictable he was in KoF XI.

Looks like a solid addition to the series.

Demon Gaze is fantastic. If you enjoyed Operation Abyss and Dungeon Travelers 2 you'll definitely feel right at home with it.
