It's an awesome idea if your a DVD player manufacter because you can finally raise prices again. But for everyone else it is a terrible idea with absolutely no benefit. You can go more digital and streaming without removing the only means for backwards compatibility. Unless Microsoft wants to give us all free licenses for the games we own now as well as contracts to never raise prices of service to make up for the increase in server needed for all the streaming games. As if they don...
On-disc DLC is not DLC. DLC (Downloadable Content) is not downloadable if it existing is hard form. New term, ULC (Unlockable Content). To mean On-Disc content simply means the publisher is just too greedy and taking up disc space with content that could have been utilized for better graphics or more in-game content. If you don't plan on making it available to the owners of the disc make it true DLC and make the regular game better.
It's a few weeks early for April fools articles. This part made me laugh, "This will continuously transmit updates on which games have been played on the system- along with other data such as Xbox Achievements earned, the amount of time spent on different games, covertly recorded images of the user and his or her residence captured by the Xbox 720′s hidden cameras, infrared sensors, motion detectors, spectrometer, and LIDAR array, etc.- back to Microsoft headquarters." As if t...
Locked content is a big F.U. to the person who buys the disc as well. Basically what these companies want to do is piss off all gamers who buy used games, bankrupt the used game industry and the rental industry. Way to go Capcom nothing like a quality idea. Perhaps you should focus on producing games at a cheap cost and making them so people actually keep them. I have never sold a Halo, COD, GoW, Castlevania, or Megaman game simply because they are great and I never know when i'm goin...
Final Fantasy 1 and Resident Evil 1-3
Weekly is nice but i'd love to see a slightly lower price on songs and a new version of rock band with more online features like weekly challenges, online road tour where people could jump in and out to play gigs with your band, more customizability in the instruments (to the part level). There is so much more they could bring to the table the library is just a major bonus that is it continues to grow.
Mine is only used as an emulator and not for game use. Xbox dominates the living room, end of story.
My vote goes to the original FF for Nintendo and FF7, despite the crazy amount of video sequence for the time. I would still love to see all the FF games through 7 make a collector's edition disc for Xbox 360. It was done with Megaman and it was awesome.
Anyone who believes this rumor is dumb. I could understand people believing it when you say, they want to go all digital. You forget the Xbox is also positioned to play DVDs. In most cases you can't even watch a movie without a subscription to another service or renting it. There is no way they would abandon the disc drive
Halo 4
Another overrated QB. Why not just put him on the Madden cover and curse him now.
I think it was worth it but we should get some extra maps since they gave away some of the maps in the horde command pack for free to everyone. It negates part of that DLC for me.
Betas are for gathering actual data from a larger audience than your developer as well as feedback from the public.
Demos are so people can try out the final product before purchasing.
One can not replace the other.
RE6 reminds me of Crackdown when I watch the gameplay. I like crackdown but it is not enough to make me buy a game for a demo. This is a pretty lame sales tactic. I like RPGs but I like MMOs better. They need to develop a new PSU for Xbox 360. That market is just waiting for a good console game.
This is why I don't do pre-orders for content. Lately the publisher have screwed those people by offering the "limited" content to be purchased later.
Microsoft is not as stupid as Nintendo to abandon the traditional controller. They have a perfect design as it is now. The only changes I would make are increased durability and gel grips for comfort.
That is a pretty lame Limited Edition, Japan can have it. I would like to see a $70 Limited edition that includes a code for either of the remakes. I don't like the controls of the old RE games but it would probably make up for sales of the high prices on those DLC games.
Gears does not have an online pass. It has a season pass which is completely different. Season passes allow you to have access to a number of DLC releases at a discounted rate. Similar to buying in bulk and receiving a discount. The Gears of War DLC content has so far been reliable and worth the money. I can not say the same for COD and the Elite concept or Mortal Kombat.
While I am a big supporter of Microsoft going pay per feature for their Xbox Live services I understand why they charge. Microsoft does have servers, streaming services, etc. unlike many games which use P2P for their multiplayer. I buy used games purely because they hit the price point I believe a certain game is worth. I buy the games I play the most (Halo, GoW, COD, etc.) brand new and most of the time a collector's edition to support the developer's for making a good game. I do...
The ranking system idea has been done by tons of games, most noteably Halo. It failed miseably because in party games people would boost lower ranks by getting paired against high rank players. Ranking should stay individual performance based. The matching system does need an overhaul to all party size matching, average ranking matching, and possibly a clan system for those who want to challenge other clans. The lack of rank matching also suffers in games like COD. Works great in Halo bu...
