The ability to scan in things has been used in games before Kinect. To think Kinect couldn't do that is wrong, it can. Rainbow 6 had the ability to scan in your face. So I'm sure Kinect could do that with object and on PC it does do it. Developers just didn't use it on Xbox. I think the real problem with that was a screw up, but the tech wasn't the screw up. I think it was a license issue.
The same Kinect does it on PC, but PC is a open platform. Xbox is a l...
This article and others like it are why business reporters should stay away from technology stories. First I believe Microsoft was making Kinect regardless of what Rare said. Rare may have pushed a gaming aspect but that was probably it. Then for this reporter to miss the very significant point Dark made, Kinect is the father of Hololens. Microsoft has said that and the Kinect sensors are actually built into Hololens. Kinect didn't lose a lot of money. It was sold at a profit and it still...
It's way too much if it's a game you already own. I've never seen a console manufacturer charge extra for BC. It sets a terrible precedent.
Raiden that has to be one of the most ignorant comments I've seen on this site and this site has tons of those. Japanese people buy tons of American products. They'll buy anything Apple puts out even though they have had better phones for years. IPads. They buy more Jazz than black people. They buy our music and movies. Tons of our weapons. I met a guy whose black that went to Japan on business. He walked around Tokyo to take in the city. The thing he found disturbing was the number o...
Dangerous I don't know what the hell you're talking about so I'm just going to agree.
Not buying exclusivity? What you said is exactly what Crystal Dynamics said about Tomb Raider. Kojima could have gone anywhere and with his signature gotten the money he needed. Sony bought exclusivity. Just like they've done many times in the past. The only difference between this and what Microsoft does is it's not Microsoft doing it. That and many Sony fans being such good liars they have themselves fooled. Titanfall also comes to mind.
Exclusivity hurts games whe...
Nonsense. People hate it when Microsoft gets anything. The Tomb Raider re-boot sold plenty of copies on Xbox the last time. It would have sold plenty this time if it hadn't been for the ignorance of the vocal few and the spinelessness of the sheep- like gaming community. Kojima needed money and he could have gotten it anywhere. He didn't have to go to a gaming company at all really. He could have gone to a VC venture or a bank and gotten a loan. But the industry allows itself to be ma...
Wait, I thought people hated it when companies buy exclusivity. I don't get it. What's different. What makes this acceptable. I'm so confused. I don't get gamers. I know they know what they're thinking though and are always honest good people and never entitled a-holes.
Game obviously you don't understand business. Microsoft said when they entered the gaming market they expected years of losses. But you don't think they will take losses to get Kojima. Why not? And regardless of how well PS4 is doing Sony isn't free to just spend away. They still have cashflow problems.
Rain, Sony can say they will support all they want. And they will support games to a limit. But to a limit because when it comes to money Sony has limits. Compared...
Exactly. Which is why Microsoft is a better fit. He can't count and they don't need to.
Game I know you're probably a ten year old but let me explain something that will help you in life. People will throw money at something they want badly. Microsoft has a lot of money to throw. They spent a billion before One launched just getting the people to put together their Xbox Studios adventure and then dropped it like it was nothing only to spend over two billion buying Minecraft and immediately started talking about a movie for it. So they kinda have a lot of money to throw.
Anyone believing Sony is the better choice is crazy. Yes its a Japanese company, but Japanese games have to sell in the West to really make a profit. And this is a situation where the $ sign clowns like to add to Microsoft's name actually means something. They can throw far more of it at the problem than Sony.
But the biggest reason he should go to Microsoft is leverage. At Sony he can get some money and they will give him some flexibility. But there will be limits becaus...
I will agree with the latter.lol
But it's not a real exciting prospect if it's something you could actually just go do.
Too many of the"games" being shown are fat people comforters.
"I'm sure as hell not leaving my sofa to climb a damn rock. I will, however, reach over to the other cushion to grab my headset". Awesome, I can do anything"!
That is a game I want to see what they do with. If they offer Ace Combat as the full experience in VR that would make me want a PlayStation and PSVR. Unless PC brings back the Jane's flight simulator series. Then Oculus would be my choice.
Please stop showing me exploration VR games. What I want from VR is action and shooters. The on rails exploration bs I've seen so far will never make me buy a VR headset.
Loud and cool was sooo important last generation now it's unimportant. Stop moving the goalpost fanboys. You've got to be tired by now.
You, bought a console for the exclusives. A small group does. Nintendo has the best know exclusives in the world probably, how's the Wii U doing. Sony had teh exclusives last generation, how many years did it take them to catch Microsoft. And at what cost. PC has far more exclusives than both consoles combined, why so many console gamers?
It's common sense, there are far more important motives that makes a person choose a console. Selling 2 million copies of a game doe...
Thanks for the non-N4G response jb. Sounds about right. If there is one thing I can't say enough about the gaming industry it's don't trust gamers. Who knows what kind of complete nonsense they will make their next decision on. But who would have thought the Xbox gamers would be a part of such ignorant backlash. They got an opportunity to buy the game. There is no reason the game shouldn't have sold a few million copies. CoD sells and its the same game its been for eight years...
The problem with many gamers is their inability to see beyond gaming. Phones are used for gaming by the people who typically use consoles. Handheld or not. Handhelds are used on trips to grandmas house, phones on the trip to work. Very different markets.
It's a huge reach. Someone just looking for hits. There's no way anyone sees a......OMG turn it 45 degrees counter clockwise. I think that is a chicken. It's a fking chicken.
