You are correct. However it is the best portable gaming phone.
If what you are suggesting was true then SOE would have offered PSN+ to every online user (Much like what that did with Qriocity). What you and others are not considering is that PSN+ service is a 'Pay based' program that offers free product as a benefit for participation. The program (and financial model) breaks when there is no 'Pay' to offset the 'Free'. Sony's offering is more than acceptable.
I'll stop just short of saying that... but only to give it over night consideration.

Bioware/EA have nothing to do with MS. ME1 was a paid exclusive while ME2 was a timed.
All of which were previously available on PC.

Did you attempt to sign into your account through the ps3? When you try to sign in the network informs you that your password will need to be reset- followed by a confirmation/acknowledgment button. Once you confirm you will be sent the change password prompt through your assigned email address.
