Yes but are they futureproof?

"The simple truth is that technology starts to age as soon as it is finalized, and what's inside the current boxes is getting older by the day."

Agree 100% with this

Oh please, the mere fact you spout about the 'Sony camp', along with a quick look at your comment history, shows you have a touchy side when it comes to Sony products, not to mention you specifically ask for the thoughts of '360 gamers', like they're view won't be as skewed as anybody elses.
All 360/Wii/PS3 fanboys are just as bad as each other, and trust me, there's plenty from all 3 on here.

The Wii isn't even ahead then if we are going by that logic, the PS2 is. After all, it is still in the shops, its still competing for the same customers as the other consoles, games are still being released, and in some regions, its still outselling next generation hardware every month

I thought about it, then realised that the PS3 was 12 months behind the 360 (18 months in Europe) and that comparing lifetime sales, at this minute, is near enough pointless, given both consoles aren't anywhere near from beind finished yet.

All that you can say is that since both launched, both have sold well (with the PS3 selling at a slightly faster rate). Leave all the greatness crap til they aren't around anymore

"Microsoft recently announced......."

Yeah, i remember a time when Microsoft stated they past the 10million mark in Europe, only to announce a few months later that they had past......wait for it......the 10 million mark.

Microsofts numbers are about as reliable as VGChartz given Microsofts history of skewing numbers.

As much as i dislike VGChartz, their numbers prove several things

1) The PS3's worldwide popularity is grow...

Agreed, and its not just with gaming, but movies and other forms of entertainment too.
The article from Yahoo seems to be pointing people in the direction of 3D being the only way you can actually view content, when, of course, its only an extension to what you can use. Lets face it, non of us would want to watch the shopping channel in 3D, and i think the companies (of which there are many) behind 3D, know this.

Its an extension to our viewing possibilites, simple. I'...

Fifa 10 isn't even better than Fifa 09, let alone be called 'the greatest football game of all time'. The bugs in the management mode alone virtually ruined the game for quite alot of people (check the official Fifa 10 forums), not to mention 3/4's of the commentary was taken from previous Fifa games from down the years (clearly evident if you go as Liverpool at any stage). It would also help if EA spent some time rectifying bugs, instead of trying to rob people of money from the likes of t...

....Another site coming out with all the sales bullcrap that seems to be running around this generation. At least, if you're going to count the sales in relation to anything, either
a) take into account all the millions of factors that can effect a games sale, or
b) judge it at the end of its shelf life as to whether its a success or not. Who's not to say this Final Fantasy will not go on to sell more units than any Final Fantasy ever has done? It would render articles like ...

Given that some of the 360's biggest games and its sequels (along with upcoming franchises from former 360 exclusives) are now multiplatform (Bioshock, Elder Scrolls, Lost Planet, Dead Rising 2,
Just Cause 2, Saints Row to name a few) i dont think your in much of a position to 'Jump In' to anything to be honest

Face it, majority of companies will go the multiplatform route unless they are owned by Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo, and Sony are in probably the best position out t...

I worked at Studio Liverpool for 4 years, uptil early 2008. Good times :)

Not a clue what they're working on, and i wouldn't read too much into this. Sony London will obviously be working on something, as they aren't getting paid to sit on their arses fiddling around on twitter. More than likely someone has left a position, and Sony just need to fill the role, rather common if you browse the job listings from time to time

As much as i dislike Cowell myself, you don't get into his position, earning that kind of money, from being a copy/paste merchant, and whats the problem with someone making lots of money? Hell, if it was as easy as most people seem to make out, i'd be out there right now milking hundreds of different versions of his shows for every last bit of cash i could get my hands on, even if i have zero interest in the actual industry.

So yes, he's a tool, but an incredibly successful on...

.....because most of the media outside of gaming, along with most of society (the ones who don't/rarely play games) still perceive gaming to be something done by 8-10 year old kids, regardless if a game has age restrictions in place or not.

If its perfectly acceptable in movies or TV, then why can't it be acceptable for video games? As long as it has the appropriate age rating, then where is the problem?

Sex is no worse in games as it is in movies or TV shows. ...

"You don't own a 360, and don't use LIVE...why does this concern you?

Maybe because he's a gamer, and its a place for discussion. You don't have to own things to be of a certain opinion, as long as you have decent ground on which to argue your opinion.

In this case, what is being above your comment is correct, things like this should be free and open to everyone, not just 'gold' subscribers. After all, the iplayer is free everywhere else, in...

They do 'gimp' the system to a certain extent. Being console banned from Live also means you cant install games to the hard drive, or use most of the media center functions.

This is where i feel sorry for those buying second hand 360's from places like Ebay or game shops which have banned consoles. There is nothing these people can do to reverse the bans, and its almost money down the drain for them.

Ban the pirates, but at least give a little bit of thought to...

I think it depends what region to be honest.

Here in Europe i expect the following

1) Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
2) Fifa 2010
3) Assassins Creed 2

Fifa is in there simply because its massive in Europe, and tends to be really high in the charts come christmas every year. PES2010 might be in there instead of AC2, but i doubt many exclusive titles from any platform would make it into the top 5
