No you don't Mr. Speilberg. That'd be a huge waste of time. Play top 10 goty finalists, and top 10 indie goty finalists.

Again, Naughty Dog has specifically said this is NOT a zombie game! They said if this was a zombie game they wouldn't have shown the zombies, making them more of a focus. They didn't do that. They simply went here's how are zombie sounds like, here's how they look like.
...
No, intentional slip :P
Except Naughty Dog has said, "This isn't your average violent zombie game!!! But rather a game that's about survival, and the love of the man, and the young girl to make it through these post apoclayptic times."
But of course everyone loves to rag on Naughty God.

-What I mean by linear narratives: In Red Dead Redemption you have the main narrative, as well as various side narratives, on top of that you have small mini game narratives.
In a similar cowboy film you'd have a cowboy hunt for revenge in a more linear structure. The player controls the narrative structure in RDR and in most video games for that matter
-Well then I'm not incorrect, then Amy Henning (the creator of the sto...
Why would it be mgs 5 if he hasn't even started production on it? Kojima keeps talking about this new multiplatform ip he's doing. I'm guessing it might be this.
Getting to the point where I don't really care though. It's been almost 4 years since MGS 4 and we haven't gotten a new game since.
Still gameplay should be first.
What sets a game apart from a movie is GAMEPLAY. To me a game like Vanquished, or Bayonetta will always be better than a game like Heavy Rain simply because of gameplay.
Honestly...games should always focus on the narrative last. What makes a video game a VIDEO GAME is the gameplay, and if you have shitty gameplay, but an amazing story..well, then what's the point?
To me a game should focus about the gameplay, the level design, the atmosphere of the world, and so much more before even focusing on the narrative.
An I'm not just saying all of this because i'm some anti-narrative guy. No, I love games with great nar...
Congrats Bethesda. Yes the game, might be buggy, but hopefully Bethesda will get all the issues worked out in the coming months.
In an industry where almost every developer/publisher feels it's SO necessary to include multiplayer, it's VERY refreshing to see a single player only game do so well.
Oh come off it.
Fine, it's not what you expected. It still looks awesome, and will probably be the best action game of 2012 (if not the top 5 this gen).
Kojima has already said "hey, if you want something more traditional we got mgs 5 in the works, just be patient."
This is a neat spin off, and will no doubt introduce non mgs fans into the series for the first time.
Personally to say "I wish it didn't exist&quo...
Agreed!!!
If you've seen the extended trailer, or the behind the scenes documentary (with the gameplay bits)
then you'll see how much of a kickass game this is turning out to be. Yes MGS fans have a right to be upset. This game is a complete 360 of what they expected and what there used to seeing in MGS game. Obviously some of them won't accept this concept, not because Rising is a bad game, but rather it strays away from the series roots.
Dem deers! Dat gas satation! Dat fireplace.
For real though, great pieces of artwork. Love the wildlife bit especially. To many games have no clue when it comes to level variety and seeing that we won't be secluded to just the grey apoclayptic streets is a huge plus in my books.
Also it seems like Joel and Ellie are trying to obtain some supplies of some sort, and it's nice to see it's not ol guns a blazing, but rather a more methodical and stealthy ...
The Producer and Ueda are 2 different people.
To early to call imo.
I think these games have a good chance of winning goty (if they out to live up to there potential);
-Bioshock Infinite
-Max Payne 3
-GTA V
-The Last Guardian
-The Last of Us
-Tomb Raider
-Halo 4
-Diablo 3
-Mass Effect 3
-Far Cry 3
Just for starters....
Doesn't mean anything Bioshock, Red Dead Redemption are a list of few games that won previous goty awards even though they were new ip's.
I think you have to look at the Pedigree. A new ip by some smaller studio will have a 100x less chance of winning goty then a new ip by studio by Rockstar, or Irrational, or Naughty Dog.
I like this. Mixing it up with a little of MK, and a little of bit of Killer Instict (see what I did there ;))
Epic song, for a (presumably) epic game.
why? we saw a 20 second teaser. we know nothing else about the game, and your already deeming this a "terrible new direction."
gamers these days. if it's not realistic and nitty and gritty then it's pathetic in there eyes.
Games like these is what epic began there company on (jazz jackrabbit waves hello). Not gears or unreal tournament.
The fact that they mentioned HE CHOOSES which project he does next tells me alot about this game. He could do any big film he wanted to right now, but he choose this game.
Fucking awesome stuff right here.
Still haven't played alot of the big games yet (UC3, Skyrim, Dark Souls, LOZ, Arkham City, etc.)
But I have played Portal 2, Human Revolution, and L.A Noire...
and to be honest...I think L.A Noire wins..
The biggest X factor a game needs for me is ATMOSPHERE. An to me the atmosphere was just very dull in portal 2 (not saying it's a bad game, I loved it overall). Human Rev. had a interesting sci-fi atmoshere, but felt it was to dark and b...
