"A strong positive note for this game is that it is being developed by The Creative Assembly; there’s no Gearbox name"
Yeah because Creative Assembly have such a good track record with the launches of Total war games... Rome II is still unplayable.
Halo will likely release in quarter 4, but I hardly think its to do with Titanfall. Most if not all Halos have been released towards the end of the year, As is the case with most major gaming titles (Halo, GTA, BF, COD, Madden, Fifa, Lego, etc)
Eurgh, I bought in to the Bioshock hype when it was released. Picked it up for only £25 and felt like id been robbed. Sure the story was alright, but the games-play mechanics and AI felt so outdated. Also the way they handled Elizabeth's interactions with enemies was such a cop out. She simply did not exist to them, I was shocked to read about people claiming she was one of the best AI companions ever seen in a game.
Wouldnt make more sense to compare Killzone: SF, to say, the previous installment of Killzone?
You goddamn hipsters will hate on anything successful.
1. Red Dead Redemption
2. Halo 3
3. Minecraft / TES: V Skyrim
Meh, the same applies whenever someone reviews an MMORPG. Its a review of the current state of the game. If someone wants to score the console thats cool, just re score it when theres a dashboard update.
I stand by my statement that the only reason Journey got so much undeserved love and chatter in the game of the year discussions was due to Minecraft not being available on PS3 at the time.
Had it been simultaneously released on 360 and PS3 then nobody would even know what Journey was.
Journey, one of the most overrated games of all time.
This list needs more Red Dead Redemption and Halo 3
Typical uniformed internet comment, madden 25 is easily the best football game of this generation. Sure id love it if they included a half time show, but everything else about that game was fantastic and a huge improvement on its predecessors.
I realised back in halo 3 that the series borrows heavily from the bible (Flood, Arc, Reclamer, etc). Call of duty's were nearly always ripping over a popular war film: CoD = Band of Brothers, CoD2 = Enemy at the gates. I'm not sure of the exact circumstances, but I believe Spielberg was involved in MoH Allied Assault, which would explain why it nearly perfectly follows the story of Saving Private Ryan.
I mean c'mon man, especially the Halo 2 & 3 ones. Two of the biggest games of their respective generations. Yet one representing Halo 2 was not even from the game, but the E3 showing and the Halo 3 was an advertisement!
I'm afraid its not just Sony fanboys. Even I think it's pretty retarded to compare cut scenes to game play. Why not include game play? Especially from the older games, It is not hard to locate on this big old thing called the internet.
Whats the point in comparing old cut scenes to new game play & vice-versa?
No its really not a 92/100 game, maybe when the iron out all the issues the score could rise a little, but I think a 6 is justified. I've had to restart my campaign numerous times and the combat just feels like such a mess in comparison to older total war games. I'm not saying the game is terrible, quite the opposite, you can see they have tried to implement many new ideas, but they have failed to implement them properly and the result is a game which you could probably convince most ...
I've always loved the music by O'Donnel in Halo, the range he could always portray between the quiet tense moments and the loud explosive parts of the game. Also I did make me smile when I heard Skrillex booming out in FC3.
@TenBensons "Most PEOPLE prefer......"
It would seem that you have, most unfortunately, mistaken the meaning of the word most.
What a ridiculos list of games, I'd rather sink my time into the glitch fest of Total War Rome 2 than any of those. Hell I'd rather play Madden 25 or AOE 2 HD.
Hell no! :P
Personally I would replace Gears of War with Halo 3 and Little Big Planet with Minecraft.
