I wouldn't say the game itself coming to PS3 is bigger than Final Fantasy XIII on 360, but I would say the implications are bigger. Before E3 2008, everyone knew Square Enix was developing for the 360. Before E3 2010, everyone knew Valve was never going to touch the PS3. In that sense, Portal 2 is definitely bigger news.
DLC will be discounted, means you still pay for it and get to keep it forever. What you don't get to keep are the FREE games Sony gives you for shelling out a mere 1 dollar a week. It's a subscription. They want people to SUBSCRIBE.
Think of it as a flat rate for video games. You pay a flat rate (one dollar a week) and in return you get tons of free games. Some of them you may not like, some are just plain cheap, but you're getting content every month that's worth a lo...
There is one MAJOR issue for some gamers that Sony hasn't addressed, and that is the lack of ability to change the country on your PSN account.
Normally this wouldn't be a problem, except stuff like map packs will only work if you bought the game from the same country as the PS-Store you bought the content from. Now, if you MOVEd (pun intended :), like many people tend to do, all your trophies and friends and save and whatnot will be on an account that is not of the same count...
It wasn't as good as I expected it to be. That said, it was still awesome. The highlight of the show for me was watching Gabe Newell eat his own shit as he announced Portal 2 would be better on PS3 than 360. That was priceless.
Still, with all the cool anouncements like Twisted Metal and Portal 2, I felt the press conference was missing that mega-ton announcement that would have made it unforgettable. PSP 2 would have done it, but I guess they're saving that for later and focu...
A couple of days ago I defended IGN on some forum here. I don't think I will ever do that again.
"Kinect delivered" Wow, that one was so sarcastic it flew right over my head.
"How could you not be impressed by the voice recognition?" WTF? Seriously? You really think yelling 'xbox play', 'xbox pause', 'xbox, do my laundry' is cool? Since when did pushing a button on a remote become so taxing on the human body?
"Kinect’s voice recognition was also shown off during video playback. “Xbox! Pause!” Here’s a quick tip. You know what else can pause video even quicker? The pause button on your remote, and it won’t cost you an extra $150-$200."
LOL, my sentiments exactly. I was not aware that picking up a remote and pushing a button was so taxing on the human body. And "fumbling around for it in the dark"! My god! Thank goodness Kinect is here to save us!
I really l...
Some VIP's are more concerned about their hair than Natal/Kinect. They probably paid more attention to the cirque du soleil elephant than the games.
Honestly, hiring celebrities to feign interest in video games is growing old, fast. They don't give a damn, we as gamers can tell they don't give a damn. The whole thing reeks of phoniness. The Beatles at last year's E3, Merissa Miller a couple of days ago on GTTV, and now this.
When was the last time you saw Kojim...
Also, as much as I would love a Star Wars game with awesome motion control, there is sadly no way that Natal can detect the exact angle your wrist is titled at. Of course that's not important for driving or boxing or that rafting game, but if so your supposed to be holding a lightsaber in your hand, things could get messy...
LAAAAG!
no wait, that was the opposite of lag...
FAAAAKE!
Wow, really? This guy is really going to start rumors on Natal/Kinect's price one day before it's announced? How starved for information does he think people on N4G are?

Pssst, yo, any word on what Move is going to cost?
Yeah, but... Isn't everything Gametrailers + Spike TV an insult to intelligence? I mean, just look at the VGAs...
That said, I don't watch Gametrailers for it's smart critiquing and witty banter. I watch it for the HD trailers, and the trailers were there. Honestly, was anybody here expecting anything more than lame jokes and hot girls feigning interest in video games?
Look at the plus side. Merissa Miller's mind trick on the storm troopers was so bad it made u...
I know, IGN is so bad. I mean, they actually cover video game news instead of bashing rival websites. Can you believe it? Pompous indeed... Why can't they just stick to the industry's low standards like Icrontic?
Sending E-mails to promote yourself is called spam. I hate spam as much as the next guy, but whining about said e-mails to the public instead of covering video game news is just being a pussy.
He misses the whole point. People got upset because Greenburger's statement wasn't a fact, it was just some made up bullshit. Halo 3 did not sell more than those other games combined. It might have been okay to lie like that twenty years ago, but now days we have internet and google, and anyone can easily check and see that the numbers simply don't ad up the way Greenburger would like them too. The reason people don't get upset with spokesmen from Sony or Nintendo is because t...
"Uncharted 2 won more AWARDS than Halo 3, Gears 2, Fable 2, Too Human, and Forza COMBINED. :)"
Lol, just had to repeat that, awesome comment.
Anyway, there is no way in hell that Halo 3 outsold all those titles combined, as many people are pointing out with sales data.
Also, Ford sold more cars than Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti combined, but which would you rather have?
1) 100% free navigation software.
2) Steve Jobs doesn't control what applications you can and can't have.
3) 3G porn on the go.
4) I think multitasking, but I'm not 100% sure on that one since I do not yet own an android. They say iPhone 4G will have multitasking though, so it'll have caught up to android in that regard.
5) More applications thanks to ever increasing user created content.
6) If you know how, you can program and create yo...
That's a good point, but I didn't say the quality of video calls on the iPhone isn't superior. Of course it is. The internal camera on my phone sucks, and I'm sure the one on the iPhone 4G is much better. My point is that I had video calling 3-4 years ago, and now apple are advertising it as though it were something completely new and revolutionary, which it isn't. If they said their high res camera and superior connectivity makes video calls less of a gimmick and more a v...
Could someone please tell Apple they did not invent the video call? I've had it on my phone for 4 years now, way back when 3G was brand new. And I never use it, because it simply isn't that great. This is why I hate Apple. They proclaim themselves to be the saviors of the world when all they do is take what's already there, put their ugly Apple logo on it, and charge 3 times the price. I'm not saying Apple makes shitty products - the iPhone is nice and all - they're just n...
Why do we gamers even pay attention to such ugly douchebags? He's obviously a complete moron who would rather criticize something than actually give it a try. Some critic...
The list should have been limited to just one song per game. But I definitely agree with Final Fantasy X at number one!
5. Donkey Kong Country (Nostalgia)
4. Metal Gear Solid: Rising (Watermelon cutting)
3. Portal 2 ("You Monster")
2. Twisted Metal ("It's good to be back")
1. Star Wars: The Old Republic (definition of kick-ass CG trailer)
