Rather than roam free in a living, breathing world carefully crafted by years of hard work, Peter Molynuex would rather play Godus, a game where you sculpt your own boring and simplistic world by dragging layers of land back and forth. Peter Molynuex doesn't want a game that challenges him, that makes him start off with nothing and dares him to show what he's made of, he wants a game that reassures him he's god and gives him the power to shape earth from the get go.

Damn you, I was just about to make that point when I saw your comment. Well played sir, well played.

The other question is, when will developers start pushing graphics more on PC?
Many developers will be happy to take the game they have on consoles and put it on PC with higher resolution and better anti-aliasing and call it a day.

You can go out today and buy a PC with 2 GTX 780s that will absolutely blow the PS4 out of the water. The problem is nobod...

You are correct in saying that the bandwidth for 1080p isn't the problem and the increased resolution won't affect the geometry. However, games today are starting to spend more and more time on post effects. Stuff like lens flares, HDR lighting, layered materials, all that is done on pixel shaders. Granted that having twice as many pixels won't cut the performance in half, but it will reduce it.

As for running at 60 FPS over 30 FPS, that will definitely cut the am...

That simply isn't possible.
The principle that you can do twice as many calculations per frame when running at half the frame rate (i.e. 30 FPS instead of 60 FPS) is not an opinion, it's a FACT.

30 FPS = 1/30 = 33.3 milliseconds per frame.
60 FPS = 1/60 = 16.6 milliseconds per frame.

It doesn't matter what hardware you have, given twice as much time, that hardware can do twice as much work. Come on guys, the math behind this really...

These 1080 @ 60 FPS discussions are stupid. It has never been a question of power. It has been and always will be about the tradeoff.
1080p = 1920x1080 = 2073600 pixels.
720p = 1280x720 = 921600 pixels.
So in order to run a game at 1080p @ 60 FPS, you have to draw more than twice as many pixels in half the time. This will ALWAYS be the case, not matter the hardware.
The question is how do you want to use the hardware you have? Do you want to focus on a huge res...

I was going to write a serious reply, then I read this: "if you go on solely hardware wii u is the winner hands down great graphics capabilities, and tablet controller packed in. awesome online" followed by this: "devs say wii u can't handle it (...) Zelda will never look good on ps4"
Anyone who thinks they know more about the hardware inside the consoles than the devs is not worth talking to. I'm a graphics programmer, and PS4 and Xbox One having substanti...

@CrossingEden

Fuck you too. The fact that I named the only story that spanned multiple games and not every single story and character in the franchise makes me not a true fan? So what, I'm not a true fan of something unless every time I mention it I bow down in prayer and mention every single thing I like about it?
Seriously dude get a life.

"Anti-consumerist exclusivity" says it all.
People don't realize that platform exclusivity is actually bad for the consumer, not good. It restricts the amount of choice they have, which is always a shady business. Imagine if Disney came out and said "You can only watch Disney movies if you own a Samsung HDTV." ...

No, I definitely agree I would like to play some of the games on the system, more specifically Pikmin, Mario Kart and whatever the next Zelda will be. But that's just three games, none of which are even out yet. 350$ for three games is not something everyone can afford. Halo is by far my favorite franchise but I am not going shell out 500$ just to play one or two Halo games on Xbox One. Making games to sell consoles is like making movies to sell TVs or novels to sell paper. Consoles shoul...

"But for the true fans who love that (modern day) kind of stuff"
I see, so people who just like to explore beautiful 3D renditions of ancient cities, assassinate targets, and immerse themselves in Ezio's story, those are not true fans. Gotcha.

6) Stop making consoles. You suck at it. Your games are awesome, now make them on awesome hardware. Zelda on next-gen Playstation and Xbox would be amazing, and would easily sell 10 million copies once the install base of those consoles has had time to grow.

Watching CNN try to make a relevant statement about video games is like watching a puppy trying to catch it's own tail.

Halo? Maybe.

The rest? Not likely.

Smart glass? How? Sony have their own version which was shown in the Watch Dogs demo at E3, and Wii-U is a console based around that whole concept.

"Why not make an open world 3D DK game?"
Because unfortunately the only studio to ever make a 3D Donkey Kong game - RARE - was bought by Microsoft a long time ago on one of the darkest days gaming has ever witnessed. Once at the pinnacle of game development studios, they are now condemned to making shovelware for Kinect.

"We are Ubisoft and we'll say anything to get you to buy a new console so we can sell you Assassin's Creed XXXVIII with space pirate zombie ninjas."
I actually like most of Ubisoft's games, but they would say this even if Xbox One costed $1200, just as long as people buy consoles and consequently Ubisoft games.

How about they start by making a game you want to play.
The first Modern Warfare was nice, so what happened?

Lol, Ubisoft is so full of shit.
This game will be on PC, just like Assassin's and Far Cry were on PC.
I don't know why they're asking us to beg, it's ridiculous. The PC ports Ubisoft puts out are absolutely sub-par. Assassin's looks like shit given the potential of a high-end PC, and Far Cry 3 looks worse than Crysis 1, a game that came out 5 years before it.
Ubisoft really dosn't like PC gamers, I don't know why. The proof is in their insa...

Alright, just to summarize...
Without Blizzard, Ubisoft Montreal and Bethesda, there would be...

No Diablo, no Starcraft, no Warcraft, no World of Warcraft, the MMO genre would suffer from a huge setback, there would be no Assassin's Creed, no recent Prince of Persia, Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six titles (all 80+ btw), oh and that game that stole E3? Watch Dogs? Also Ubisoft Montreal. There would be no Oblivion, no Fallout 3, no Skyrim, no huge epic worlds with easy ...
