That's in the first 30 mins?!
SOLD!
I'm having lots of fun with Skyward Sword, and I think the formula is actually refreshing after playing so many FPS.
However, as much as I'm enjoying the game, I have to agree it does feel dated at times. The author points out that Call of Duty and Skyrim also repeat the same formula as their predecessors. But at least those games have voice acting and have made the jump to HD.
I know these seem like ridiculous complaints for a Zelda came on the Wii, but can you imagin...
Wow, it launched this month and they have already leveled up 800 times...
Are they the best MW3 players in the world? Who knows.
The real interesting question is: does anyone here believe those two will ever get laid?
Personally I prefer demon souls and mass effect. More killing and less looking for items in barrels. But to each their own. Skyrim has some pretty awesome features. Dual wielding magic in one hand and an axe in the other is just epic.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy Microsoft entered the race and tossed up the competition. It made things interesting, gave up plenty of cool games, and keeps Sony from having a monopoly on HD consoles.
But what IGN is saying is "The best thing about Microsoft's entry into the console race is the fact that they entered the console race."
Like InTheLab said, they should have kept the list to 5.
I agree, they should have kept it to the original five.
*Before reading the top ten list*
I count Halo and Xbox Live. That's two...
*After reading the first five*
Alright, I'll give them Hard Drive, Downloads and Firmware updates...
*Laughs hysterically at page two*
Made Microsoft a player? Really IGN? Isn't that a bit, idk, trivially obvious?
It's like saying: "And the gift the N64 gave to gaming is... it kept Nintendo from going under..."
Wtf? I thought the whole point of a game like Skyrim was to run around, explore, discover things for yourself and play the game the way you want to play it. Why on earth would you want tips for playing Skyrim "The Best Way". How can you even talk about a "best way" in a game who's main role is to give players a custom and unique experience? You know, learning from your mistakes and everything?
No
Yeah, Battlefield 3 is obviously a rehash of Bad Company 2, but Modern Warfare 2 was sooo not a five-hour rehash of the first...
Some people have perspectives on reality that absolutely baffle me...
Wow, for a game that was announced in 2005, I was beginning to fear it followed in Wardevil's footsteps...
Glad to see it's still coming.
"Killzone 3's story holds it back"
Yeah, like Call of Duty's story was so enlightening...
An airport massacre leads to Russia invading the U.S.
Mhm, sure...
I agree. Those short, fun, addictive games are where portables are heading IMO. If on a 5 min bus ride, I'd rather play something short and meaningless than start up a 30 min quest and have it consistently interrupted throughout the day.
That's of course not to say that big powerhouse games don't have their place. And if they can make it come close to the PS3, then awesome.
But IGN can't possibly expect it to have PS3-like graphics in a portable form AND cost L...
And I want Micro$oft to stop BSing, but hey, you can't always get what you want...
BTW, I thought Windows 7 was supposed to relaunch PC gaming, no?
Maybe one day, Valve, on their way to world domination, could make an OS. Now THAT I would be interested in...
No no no, you are both wrong.
It's genre is AWESOME. End of story.
It's not about creating the perfect shooter or the perfect fighter. It's about seeing how creative you can get with a limited number of easy-to-use tools and sharing that creativity with the rest of the world.
It's like Lego. Sure your Lego castle doesn't look anything near as good as the ones designed by toy companies, but it's your castle and stems from your imagination and you can change it in any way you want. That's what makes it special.
But if yo...
Not unless they add Darth Vader to the mix.
But yeah, I agree, definitely the most awesome thing I have ever seen in my life. Can't wait!
Awesome list. Mine would be about the same.
And I thought my articles where stupid...
Kind of makes you wonder what it would be like to live in a society where free speech was only for those with 50+ IQ...
This isn't necessarily a good thing.
Usually when I google my consoles it's because I have a problem with them.
In my case it's usually troubleshooting connectivity issues between Xbox 360 during a LAN party.
Which console is searched for most often means absolutely nothing.
Please stop trying to ignite the flame war with crap like this.
