What makes you think EU would approve it? It's more likely that they won't and they can even copy paste the same excuse the CMA used.
Even if they're saying right now from unknown (which means bogus) sources that it will pass, they said that about the CMA too and they blocked it.
I am pretty sure the FTC is also suing, which means they're not ok with the merge either.
At 49.99 CAD, is this worth buying? I don't have Premium to try it and I definitely don't want to subscribe to it.
It's 49.99 CAD in Canada, is that actually a good price for it?
They don't have games, but hey, at least they have timelines.
@mkis007
The only IP Sony acquired from a recent acquisition would be Sunset Overdrive. I am pretty sure they will never use it though.
@Crows90 I don't know what you're talking about, Horizon Zero Dawn came out on PS4 in 2017 and on PC in 2020, that's 3 years in between.
Horizon Forbidden West came out in 2022 and a year later, it hasn't come out on PC and there is absolutely no sign it's coming out soon. In fact, a PC release hasn't been announced at all yet. You will probably need to wait another year for a PC release at least, but it's likely going to be 2 years.
@bleedsoe9mm It won't happen, you will have to wait 2-3 years for a game to be ported and not all of them will be ported either.
@crazyCoconuts
Even if consoles were sold at a loss, more consoles sold means more profits, since they sell more accessories, more subscriptions and more games, which are those that generate the biggest profits.
@DivineHand125 This is why Square-Enix is not releasing their games on Xbox, not because Sony made a deal. You people are now so cheap you want everything given to you for free and not support the developer.
The other reason is that they'd have to make the game for Series S too, which would hold them back.
I actually forgot this was a thing. It was announced long ago and we literally got zero infos since then. Square-Enix really need to stop announcing games that are years away.
When was FInal Fantasy XVI delayed? June 22nd is the release date and it's the only one we got and it was never stated to come out in 2022.
Beside, this and Forspoken are developed by Square-Enix and Tchia isn't a first party either, so Sony didn't delay any of those.
@goldwyncq
I am pretty sure all the games he named are more AAA than Honkai Star Rail, both in quality and production value.
In fact, Honkai Star Rail doesn't have the production value of an AAA game. Neither does Genshin Impact.
It's only cosmetics.
@Battlestar23 Sony aren't anti-customer, you're just cheap,
This basically means that Sony can acquire Square-Enix or Capcom afterward and no regulators will have the power to stop them because that would make them hypocrites for letting this happen.
Would Wo Long even be considered a spiritual successor to Nioh if they're both made by the same developer? It's more like the same genre of game with slightly different mechanic at this point.

Nintendo didn't announce anything, the release date is still Summer 2023. Play-Asia is using a classic placeholder date. There is also the fact that if it was actually announced, a lot more places would be reporting it than a third rate random unknown website.
Date hasn't been revealed yet, the site links to play-asia which has June 30th as a release date. It's a placeholder date.
Sony bought studio that made 90% of their games exclusives to them already, so nothing was lost. Microsoft buys entire publisher just to take games away from Sony.
Also, they're right not to truth Microsoft, they're the most anti-consumer company and pretty much everything they say is a lie. Everything that comes out of Phil Spencer's mouth is bs and the guy is a despicable excuse for a human being.
CMA or any other regulators don't have a say on Sony buying Square-Enix. SE is smaller than ABK, so regulators likely can't interfere and also, it's a japanese company buying another japanese company, so I seriously doubt the FTC, EC and CMA can do anything about it.
