Why would japanese developers take MS money when they can make even more by releasing their games on PS4 or Switch?
No one in Japan wants anything to do with Microsoft. They can offer all the money they want, it doesn't matter if no one wants it.
It's not gonna be just slightly better, it's gonna be much more powerful.
@Lennoxb63
No, the PS4 Pro will not be able to play PS5 games. Only the PS5 will be able to play PS5 games. The PS5 will likely be backward compatible with PS4 games and act as a PS4 Pro when you play a PS4 game though.
Microsoft are the ones who want forward compatibility, which means games will be playable on Xbox One, Xbox One X and the new xbox. However, it's very likely developers will abandon Xbox and make their games exclusively for PS5 and PC ...
The more I hear about it, the more I want the game right now. It's so close, yet so far away.
I didn't hate it ... but I also didn't love it either.
I disagree with you. Sony did say before that the PS3 life cycle, which was 7 years, was too long. So the PS4 having a 6 years life cycle and the PS5 releasing in 2019 is very much possible since they said the PS4 Pro didn't extend the life cycle of the PS4.
2019 or 2020 is definitely when the PS5 releases. Not earlier and not later than that.
Local save backup should have been in the console since day 1. There is no excuse, since it's literally the equivalent of a copy/paste function.
Wow, BOTW has been out for more than a year and all it get is 8% off? That's pathetic. Even 25% would still be sad.
Yet GT Sports sold at least 3 times more than Forza 7.
There is a 99% probability that this is not real because they're still working on GT Sports. If it was real, it's not coming out anytime soon.
If it were to be a launch title for PS5, the PS5 would just wreck the next Xbox even more than it's already gonna wreck it.
It makes me laugh that they say Sonic Adventure 3 won't happen because they don't want the franchise to take a step back, yet they did exactly that with Sonic Mania. Hypocrisy at its finest.
The Switch is not outpacing the PS4. The PS4 had slightly better numbers at the same point in its life and also was selling a little bit better. Not only did it do slightly better than the Switch, the PS4 also accomplished that with much less help from Japan (it came out 3 months later and the numbers weren't as high as the rest of the world). The Switch sold 10 millions in 9 months, but apparently, the PS4 did it a little faster. The PS4 also kept a slightly higher pace than the Switch a...
It's not just this generation, Microsoft won't beat Sony next gen or any future gen either.
That's only for Europe. In US and Canada, digital games are priced the same as physical copies. Of course, in Canada, you don't pay taxes on PSN, which can save you a lot of money depending on where you live (so the games are actually cheaper). This also applies to the US, but some states have starting charging taxes on PSN.
Also, US has Best Buy Gamer Club or Amazon Prime for a 20% discount. Gamer Club doesn't exist in Canada and Amazon Prime lowered their preo...
Microsoft "A Good Partner"; "As Long As We Make State of Decay They'll Be Our Partner".
I read that as: As long as we make State of Decay, Microsoft won't throw us away like trash.
Fortunately, my wallet is safe this month. Detroit is one of the two Sony exclusives I have no interest in (the other being Dreams), Dragon Crown Pro is too expensive and I already played it on PS3 back in the days (it's literally the same game).
The only thing that interest me is PixelJunk Monsters 2.
@Shiken
Even if the PS5 were to release in 2019, the PS4 will not simply stop selling. It will outsell both the Wii and the PS1, it's inevitable.
@gamerzero Sony and Nintendo did. Apparently Microsoft are clueless about it.
Backward compatibility would be nice, but forward compatibility will not help them, in fact it will do the exact opposite.
Since games will have to be compatible on Xbox One, Xbox One X and the next Xbox, developers will stop releasing their games on Xbox at some point because most of them want to deliver the best games possible using the latest hardware. Instead of being held back by the Xbox One, developers will probably rather make their games as PS5/PC only and sacrific...
To me, everything nice Microsoft is doing, they're not doing it to be nice. They're doing it because they're eventually gonna go PC only and stop releasing consoles. The PlayAnywhere feature is there to help that transition. Gamepass is a way to start charging PC players for money because they can't do that with Xbox Live Gold because PC gamers would simply crucify them. As for BC, it's to try and hide the fact that their platform doesn't have much games (and it never ...
