I could take a dump on a canvas and call it art, but does that make it so? No, there has to be some standards. IW putting in missions for the sake of controversy especially when the mission proves to be useless since you die anyways is pathetic. A well done cutscene would have sufficed and avoided all of this.
Sending anything other than a game to reviewers should be illegal imo. When review scores can ultimately sway the general public to buy or not buy a video game with their hard earned money, the scores should not be swayed by money or gifts.
42" 1080p, but in case you haven't heard MW2 is sub-HD, so I don't really see how that matters. It's something around 600p. If you've played Uncharted 2 like I have then you must know the incredible amount of detail in the game. Just about everything has depth and vibrant colors, MW2 objects have no depth and have bland pastel-like colors.
The fact is that yes, it is good, but by no means great or deserving of anything above a 9. The single player was too short (5 hrs on reg), the graphics were bland and not very good, and IW doesn't seem to know how to put a story together. You go back and forth between characters every 10-15 min, and without spoiling the game, you don't give a rat's arse for the characters at moments when you're supposed to. Cutscenes in this game would have greatly improved the story and imo were much nee...

Even if the game is awesome, it should not score higher that a 9.5. 9.6 - 10 should ONLY be given to games that are awesome AND show innovations not seen before. MW2 doesn't show any innovations, and that's why I think the max score it should get is 9.5.

Some people will do anything for attention. Also, if I had to pick who is full of **it and who isn't, I'd have to side with IGN. Now thinking about it IGN hasn't released early reviews on major games since the GTAIV fiasco. Even if the review was written, it would still have to go through many channels to get published, and on such a major title nobody's going to f up.
The problem is that the playtesters aren't accomplished glitchers. They play the games to find bugs, not glitches. What they need to do is hire people that actually spend their time trying to glitch.
It doesn't have so much to do with AAA exclusives as it does with the way Activision/IW treat PS3 owners. They act like MW2 isn't even coming out for the PS3.

COD is king of the FPS genre, going TPS may please some fans, but push away many at the same time. I agree that the same gameplay tweeked with different maps and guns gets boring though. If COD had a better melee system and a cover system, that would freshen up the franchise big time. That's what I want to see in the next installment.
I really can't fathom the issues people had with Fallout 3, I played through the game twice and got my Platinum on it. Not once did the game EVER freeze on my. The only bug I found in the game was in the Mill area where one of those huge beasts (forgot name) are. I was up between a rock and a mountain and I went under the map, other than that, the game was a glitch/bug free awesome experience.

I'm not a huge RPG fan, but what you said really makes me excited for when I pick this game up. The fact that you're no match for a certain level, so it makes you level up then come back when you're ready and say, "what's up now bi***!" Haha, I love that!
20hrs+ AT LEAST is great to hear. Some games are cool to pass in a couple days, but the slower, grind out pace of this game is really appealing to me and makes the purchase price that more justified.
When I'm not playing Uncharted 2 online, I'll be grinding away at this game. Thanks guys.
Well, to be honest, I'm hoping my local Best Buy gets more in stock by this Saturday so I can take advantage of the buy 2, get 1 offer. If they don't I'll have to go on Ebay for one.
Can you guys tell me how long it takes to beat the game, not leveling a character to the max, but just beating the game.
Update 3.10 f'd up my PS3. Now I can't sync trophies, I get logged out of PSN every 1-2 minutes and I keep having freezing issues.
Once again, Sony botched the FW update and will most likely be releasing 3.11 very soon.
I'm just glad Sony is in the video gaming business and not the pacemaker/artificial heart business.
