@ Thugbob, yes, it is Sony's fault. But it's just as much fault as Firefox, MS and Google when I get viruses through my web browser. I even bashed Sony for a bit, but now I realize that the shutdown was the best thing they could have done, and I think Sony even knew a shutdown to patch security holes was inevitable.
We consumers don't even blink an eye anymore when we get viruses browsing the internet. Sony has 1 breach and people want heads to roll, kinda dumb...
@ Anarki, Yeah thank God the cc info was encrypted because, you know, these hackers could NEVER get past encryption. /s
@ cyborg, I'm sorry that some of us don't live off of mommy and daddy and actually work full time. Excuse us if when we get out of work we want to relax and play some games online.
Also, if you weren't a mental midgit you might google "darktower" and find that it's a famous Stephen King epic series. So yeah, I'm probably more well read than you will ever be. Btw, don't go knockin people, you have twice as many comments on here as I do in t...
Hmm, judging by the disagrees in my previous post people here are totally cool with the outage. They also didn't buy their PS3 to play games online. And there is an explanation as to what happened.
Fuckin fanboys! I will probably get disagrees on this comment as well, which in a way will mean they now agree with my first comment.
Man, this is unacceptable. A couple hours or even a day is ok, but how many days so far...and still counting!
I understand that PSN is free, but I didn't buy my PS3 to not play online, especially when great games like Portal 2 and MK just released.
Also, how the fuck could something in Japan affect players in the Europe and North America? There's an old saying, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket". How could Sony not have backup se...
Hey, I thought Afrika was pretty good. I even got a platinum on it.

Sure, you got it. Bubble down!
EDIT: Why the disagree, he asked to bubble him down.
Sad how the media tried to make this into a fanboy war. I'm glad people saw through this poor journalism.
P.S. Just talking about the flaimbait title.
Great news. This could very well be the first step in eliminating the fanboy mentality and joining all gamers together. It could introduce some PS3 gamers to PC gaming that otherwise wouldn't have done so and vice versa.
Congrats to Valve and Sony for making this happen. Personally, I only game on my PS3, but if this type of partnership continues I might upgrade my PC in the future so I can play games on it.
Now Valve, when are you going to bring L4D t...
@ starchild, you're a dumbass thinking "PS3 loyalists" have something against PC gaming. Do you realize 90% of the people on this site are using a PC? Its just preference, that's all. Console gamers will never convince PC gamers, and vice versa.
If I were into MMO or RTS, I'd game on PC, but I'm not. PC games will never, let me say this again, NEVER match the vast catalog of exclusives found on consoles. As a matter of fact, franchises that were onc...
Um, my PS2 lasted 8 years without fail. My PS3 is 3 years old and still going strong. Also, PCs crash all the time. A dead PC costs way more than a dead console.
Also, your last point, "consoles like 360 charge"...NO, ONLY the 360 charges, Wii and PS3 are free.
#5 hardware Cost: spending $300-$400 on a console every 10 years vs $300-$400 every 5 years on a new video card.
#4 portability: I can take my console anywhere with me with relative ease. Unless you habe a gaming laptop you can't do that. #3 innovation: face it, the innovators are in the console game, not PC game. Kinect, Move and Wii are all good examples.
#2 All in One: I use my PS3 for watching movies, music, gaming chatting with friends, etc. I suppose you could d...
Yuo, it looks nice but watercooling a Wii? That's like watercooling a PSP, no need for it. Has anyone here EVER overheated a Wii?
Agree 100% with the article. This only makes Sony's case stronger and will make the judge and FBI come down harder on hackers now and in the future.
Good luck chumps, you can only hide behind your PC for so long. I sure would like to be there when the FBI busts down your door with assault rifles and locks you up.
If there is still issues which are pretty obvious, namely all the AI issues, these should have been fixed. Just because it was delayed once does not mean it wasn't rushed.
Anyone remember Friday the 13th for NES? Such a bad game, but I loved it lol. A Halloween game from the perspective of Michael Myers might be good if done in the style of a Hitman game. Cautiously optimistic though.
This report (if true) shall make for an interesting Sony keynote address @ this years E3.
I bought BO day 1 and didn't have any issues. In fact, it was the best COD game since COD4. The problem with the game I have is that its the same tired formula, and once the novelty of new guns/maps wears off it gets boring. I only played it about a month before I got bored to death of it. Last COD game for me.
