I think Teh Cell is not being serious. I just put an old 8400GS PCI-e xq into my PC to use as physx along with my 4870. I am waiting for the imaginary/possible 5830. The 5770 is is no upgrade apart from DX11, and the 5850 is overkill for me. My monitor cannot do above 1080p. I don't intend to upgrade until the 6000 range come along, and in any case 2010, when I start from scratch. I am looking to upgrade my CPU Phenom X4 955/965 BE as I just found out my MB can take it now they have lower TD...

Agreed. The, cooler etc look nice and all, but I want to see some benchmarks. As far As week know they are just empty cases, just like the Fermi reveal.

The Fermi is too powerful (and to large) for HTPC my system. The HD 5770 is no step up from what I have got. The 5850 is overkill as I will be CPU limited. I need a ATI 5830 to exisit or a Nvidia...

What are you talking about anti M$ soldier. DX11 is MS response to support ATI/Nvidia continuing arms race and Apple invented OPenCL. Whay should MS leave themselves behind. You might not see the importance of compute shaders (outside gaming and thank G-d dev do) ATI/Nvidia HPC computing are counting on it. Agreed, I have seen DX11 running live and the still does not shoe the way reflections etc move over the car in motion. You simply cannot capture that in a still. The DX 9 does have a little striping in the on the shadows.
The DX 11 lighting is more realistic that hyper realistic.
Any there is no need for DX 10/10.1 now. DX11 default to that if you cannot suppose all the features I.e. Compute shader 5 -->CS 4.1 (10.1) --> CS 4.0 (for DX10)

GoW will give fans of the series exactly what they want, I am sure. Out of all the GoW game, the PSP version is the one I have come closest to finishing. However, I will dust of my PS2 disks and plough through those before this is released.
A lot of game use the game engine but off line (i.e not realtime and played back as High bitrate video. UC and MGS4 and one of the sequences at the end of Gears 1. Having trouble finding the link on Gamasutra.

I have a phenom X4 @2.8Ghz with A radeon HD 4870 OC, W7 x64 + 4Gb ram. I ran the benchmark in the demo @ 1600x900 and got an average of 54 fps. I did have a few instances of stutter. I don't know why though.

Well, as long as it is over 60fps the game will runs smooth. That is twice the FPS of the 360 and PS3. My monitor cannot handle 90+ fps, so all the high number would be bragging right and nothing more.
I have not played AC2 yet, but I thought UC2 would have won it. On my 3rd go through.
