US IGN gave it a 7.5, and they gave it a lasting appeal score of 7.5, saying there's no reason to replay it until the DLC comes out.
They gave MAG, an online multiplayer game, a lasting appeal of 6.5. Really? I'm confused. I'm kind of losing faith just a teensy bit in IGN. Their scores are baffling sometimes.
IGN is weird sometimes. I trust them the majority of the time to be fair.. but Too Human was pretty bad. The story was crap, the death sequence that happened every goddamn time was horrible, the camera was disgusting, and the targeting was broken.
MAG is an amazing feat, getting 256 people on the same map with no lag or framerate problems is insane. & creating a way for those battles to work without problems and be fun, is crazy too. MAG obviously isn't a game for everyone, ...
I personally haven't tried the game yet, but legitimately, 256 people battling at the same time with no lag or framerate issues? Super impressive. & I bet if you have friends that play it with you and you all get your own little squad, it sure would be epic..

But if you do see this, I don't even think that Uncharted 2 & Gears should be in competition at all. But this jerkoff is acting like Gears is sooooo lowly compared to Uncharted, and it isn't. It's apples and oranges. Both are delicious.

They don't play the same at all. Uncharted 2 is a platformer. You don't see Marcus hopping between ledges and climbing up cliffs. Uncharted 2 does have some shooting elements, here and there, but it's definitely not the bulk of the game. Gears is a shooter. It's all shooting all the time. There's no frollicking in the mountains and playing on top of trains. It's different.
Gears of War 2 outsold Uncharted 2 by far. So, appparently, Uncharted 2 is doing the nibbling.
Because they both use a cover system, you're stuck like glue to walls, and are playing in 3rd person? Uncharted 2 is colorful and pretty, has platforming, and reminds me a heck of a lot more of Tomb Raider instead of anything else.. Gears is 5 shades of gray and dirt, is more serious and gory, you aren't fighting humans, and it doesn't do platforming whatsoever.

So the market for this iPad nonsense is anyone who is willing to spend $500 on a large iPod touch who doesn't mind a lot of features, that should be included naturally - usb, multitasking, camera - missing completely, just because they want a colorful kindle. & Also, very true. I don't think used games are bad. Publishers & developers are also benefiting from specialty stores like Gamestop, who are the ones who sell used games, because they push reserves on the games. Getting reserves on games is guaranteeing sales for the dev/pubs. So they may lose some profit from used sales, but it's balanced out through the reserves.
It seems a shame that some people are knocking it without giving it a real chance.. If it is well executed, it could be splendid.
I finally have a PS3, and I should be excited for this game.. But.. I went back to GOW 1 & 2 .. and after being addicted to Bayonetta for the past couple weeks, Kratos feels fat.. Really strong, yes.. but truly obese. So I'm undecided.
I think it's just because Xbox Live has such a huge community & it has had achievement support from the very beginning. Also, every 360 game has achievements. Trophies came about late in the game, and not every PS3 game has them, so obviously achievements are viewed upon as better, whether right or wrong. People have just grown to love them.

I disagree.. Achievements haven't ruined gaming. A lot of the time I find myself not playing older games because I miss the multiplayer of my favorite current games, not because I can't achievement whore. & I'm not saying multiplayer ruined gaming, at all. The reason I have a hard time leaving it for any amount of time is because it's so much fun and I <3 the peeps I play with, who make it even more fun.
This is their second game in this genre. Indigo Prophecy was the first, and that didn't sell overly well, but it is a huge cult classic. Not a flop in any way. Plus, like I said, this is attempt #2 - so it's more polished than Indigo Prophecy - and it's getting a lot more attention and hype. It's going to sell.

She has actual combos, is hilarious, and witch time is fun. Everything is so hectic and over the top, it's ahmazing. She makes Kratos feel terribly fat. Plus, the world in Bayonetta is just awesome, and the angels are all creepy as fudge. Looove it. :)
