I agreeee. Even if I was willing to spend $110 + tax on this nonsense, once I found out I had to cut off the barcode, I wouldn't do it. This is really one of the most shady things I've heard in a long while..

I like my games to look nice, not have a square cut out of the covers. I really have to say I thought Bethesda was better than thisss.

That's different, though? You get the car, and if it breaks, you get the parts from them to fix it.

If my game disk breaks, then sure, I'll buy another game, but other than that, don't expect to get more $$ off of me for using the entire product that I paid for, how I like to. If I want to let my friend borrow it, then I should be able to. If I want to sell my game to someone, then I should be able to sell the entirety of the game.

In your example...

This shouldn't stop anyone from buying it pre-owned. You obviously don't shop there, so you wouldn't know, but GameStop charges $13 less + 10% off for PowerUp members for EA games currently to be still be cheaper even with the online pass. They'll most likely do this with Sony.

Also, pre-owned games aren't killing anyone. If I buy new, I buy new within the first month, because I am that excited about the game. When it's a year or two down the road, I ...

No, I'm pretty sure when they're trying to battle against pre-owned sales, they want to hurt the sales of pre-owned games. But with this strategy, they can't. The customer can still get it cheaper pre-owned because GameStop isn't completely brain dead.

GameStop already responded to this nonsense anyways, so it's pointless. For preowned EA games, they charge $13 less than the new price, to offset the $10 online pass and then still give a $3 + 10% off discount to powerup members.

So, they'll do that for Sony games. GameStop makes pure profit from selling pre-owned games, so taking off a little chunk from only select publishers' games won't hurt them all that much, and definitely won't kill pre-owned sales....

Well. I just bought Cthulhu Saves The World. Thanks to this article!

& I already have that I Made A Game With Zombies In it game..

So now I have TWO XBL indie games. Woooo. :]

But, there's just too much crap to bother wading through unless I hear about a game from articles like these.

Then pass it along if you can - and honestly, you should be able to, it's a shame if you can't - and if you can't pass it along, get someone else's opinion as well. Ask a fan why they like Dynasty Warrior, and see if that stuff is in the game. ... OR PUT STUFF ABOUT THE ACTUAL GAME IN THE REVIEW. You know, something.

The issue this person had was not the score. It was the fact that they didn't mention anything about the game. It was a review on title alon...

Here, here. I think this is a growing problem. Half of the Duke Nukem reviews were Fox News rants with nothing of the game really even mentioned. This is another rant, with pretty much nothing about the game mentioned. Just really toxic stuff.

I wish we could somehow get through to gaming "journalists" that this type of stuff isn't okay.

How can IGN cater to their audience? Their audience is millions of people huge, are they really going to be all the same person? None of them could be Dynasty Warriors fans?

Also, you give a fair score based on the merits of the game, and if you don't like Dynasty Warrior-type games, then you do not review it, you pass it along to someone else to review because you obviously don't appreciate what makes it fun for other people.

I read all the metacriti...

I really agree. I hate JRPGs, personally, so I would never tell someone that loves JRPGs whether or not they should buy the newest one because I wouldn't know what makes it fun or enjoyable for that person, because I obviously don't experience it the same way.

Reviews like this are a nice reminder that every individual score and every metacritic score should be taken with a grain of salt.

If it's a game for a 3 year old - then you give it a real score, based on what it's earned, based on whatever your scoring rubric is. Graphics, replayability, audio, story, fun-ness, maybe throw in an accessibility factor for the kiddies..

18-25 year olds, like myself, also buy presents. I'm not going to be playing the new Sesame Street for Kinect game personally, but if it comes out well, I'm going to get it for my itty bitty cousins. It's not as if you g...

Well, they announced / showed a bunch of titles at E3. So, you just have to be patient, I spose.

I personally can't fault you for this, because I'm going to do the same thing with the PS Vita, for better or worse. The DS just doesn't appeal to me, luckily.

The other Tomb Raiders, Lara had a gun, and that didn't mean all that much. You had the rare tiger, or something that needed to get shot for a puzzle, or a few baddies in the rare shooting sections of the games, but it was in no way the emphasis.

I agree with you, though, Tomb Raider should just keep being Tomb Raider.

Ooo I just picked up two of the STALKER games. Prettttty excited, I've always wanted to try them and at $5 and $3.74 I really couldn't pass them up. :D

That's stupid. I've been gaming since I was super young. Gaming hasn't ever JUST been a boys club. The majority is still boys in the core gaming crowd, but who cares if us girls play too?

I don't see why you can't handle dealing with a few girls here and there. But, if you really can not, why don't you mute us, if our voices being higher than yours offends you that much. Then you can pretend that all the people that you encounter are men - the strong,...

It's not an XBL problem. It's the internet.

This website is old news. Linkin 6 Echos comment though.. Prettyyyyy hilarious.

I personally mute if things get outta hand. I don't bother reporting because I'm usually not actually offended or feel threatened. Just annoyed, so I don't really care. But if I ever feel offended, I do report.

Literally everyone gets harassed on the internet. Racism, sexism, homophobia, hating on gingers, being new to the game, making stupid mistakes, etc. Literally...

People Can Fly make amazing games. Bulletstorm would have been much better if Epic hadn't decided to add stupid cover based gameplay where it didn't belong, and let Bulletstorm be a hilarious, revamped Painkiller on crack.
