Not to downplay this review, but first off... it's coming from what I'm assuming (without actually browsing through anything but this review) is a car site that also has a videogame section? That's like these weird ass Chinese "Gourmet Water" stores in Los Angeles that also sell cellphones. WTF? Second, this 'review' doesn't even sound like a review. In fact, it sounds like the press release and the editor doesn't even right about it in first person as if he's played it.

I'm wondering if Fox is there to advertise IGN since they bought them last year. Fox doesn't exactly have good games under their brands, so I'd imagine a gaming booth would easily be overlooked. Perhaps it'd be more for IGN to meet the editors, play game demos, and probably will have a lounge and they will probably do something like G4TV and record shows live there.
... because this was one of Microsoft's Windows Certificate programs where Microsoft basically makes rounds to university's in other countries and even in the states to promote the brand, educate students and possibly even recruit those that graduate and pass certain courses straight into Microsoft. This program's primary focus is Windows and doesn't even cover Xbox so your comment would be completely missing the point.
HeyHeyHey,
I'm going to assume that you're referring to the Dreamcast and if you are, I believe Sony would actually be more responsible for Sega's departure than Nintendo was. Unless I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure the PS2 was destroying everyone in sales at that time, including Nintendo.
But you're right, Sega left because they saw that it was no longer profitable for them. However, on that same note, what are the chances that you think Sony, MS or Nintendo will ever bow out of...
What's funny is that people actually believe that there is a such thing as a console war in the first place. The definition of 'war' in Console War implies that there has to be a clear and present victor. Let's take the 'Format War' for example. Why was that a war? Simple. Consumers are not going to want to own/spend money on having two Disk Formats in their house. It would be completely frustrating to have to buy one movie for Blu-Ray and others for HD DVD. What happens when you go to a fri...
The article is speculation. However, John Ohlin has a pretty valid argument. Microsoft touted all their BIG first and secondary party titles (games that are either published as MS First Party Titles or they basically own the rights to) at this event. They've long before with Mass Effect treated it the same way. However, not mentioning it at this event was pretty surprising and more than likely COULD be because a) the game will not see a 2008 release and/or B) it's no longer an MS First Party ...
So how is it a tribute if you blow it up? Seeing as how they blew up Mario and the 'Nuts & Bolts' moniker not only sounds suspiciously Ratchet & Clank like, but also LOOKS like they were inspired a little too much, I took this video as a pretty bold statement that they pretty much just made fun of two franchises. After looking at the press materials, which also featured pictures and a biography of two of the programmers (?) that was available for download on the Xbox press site, it s...
EA must be feeling confident about acquiring them after taking out that 1 Billion Dollar loan. The only way that the GTA series wouldn't get completely and utterly demolished by EA is with a similar agreement ala Vivendi/Activision. If EA has their way, there'd be a GTA every year and it'd more than likely would be complete and utter crap as they just try to capitalize off the name.
I'm not one to speculate on theories, but a conspiracy theory for the IGN review holds some truth. Sure, Rockstar may not have rigged a ton of 10's across the board, but in a way, they did. IGN is the world's LARGEST and most well-known games network out there. By that reputation, they indirectly set the trend for EVERY OTHER SITE OUT THERE because - if you've noticed - most editors out there are just copycats of other people's scores. More importantly, they typically want to be somewhat clos...
Must have been Haze since it has 4 Player Co-Op. Pretty messed up teammates that 3 of them ran off and left him in the line of fire. Maybe the remaining 3 were all girls and went searching for the 4th (presumably a boy) ala FFX2.
Ok, so enough jokes. Seriously, wtf is wrong with people
Sorry, but this show has sucked and has always sucked. The two hosts (bald guy and the tall girl) are retarded and were obviously chosen because they are good in front of a camera. The bald guy has a raspy voice that you won't forget (perfect for TV) and the girl is...well she's a hot looking chick (that's more than enough for TV). Neither of them know anything about games. I think I watched a total of 2 shows when they first launched and after seeing them criticize games because they thought...
Ok that was just a waste of a video and 60 seconds of my time. I thought I was going to actually hear something we didn't all ready figure out after watching the video ourselves. They didn't even say anything and the Xbox editor sounds like he's about to cum just seeing this game.
The interview still doesn't answer why all the multi platform boxart is the Xbox 360 version. It could just be lazy editors not wanting to upload a different picture, but then the question about why they chose to make sure that ALL of them are 360 is still in question. It'd be different if some were all PS3 or some were all 360 and then it'd be easy to say it's just the editors. But, when all of it is 360, that tends to lean towards one thing.
Finally, the video was not a mistake...
Decapitator,
the iPhone was first proposed to Verizon Wireless, where it was turned down because Verizon did not want to give Apple as much control as they demanded (larger piece of the profits, iTunes supports with NO vcast support, all warranty programs are through Apple, etc.). After Verizon declined the device, it was then offered to AT&T. Apple offered to Verizon Wireless first because they wanted to use EVDO and not Edge or AT&T's still limited 3G network.
Never even really paid attention to GT, but after browsing through their site, it was interesting to see that most of their ads are 360 and worst of all, even when browsing in the PS3 section, the boxart for games is 360 boxart? Um......K?
First of all, LOL at HD DVD's comment. That was pretty damn funny in how random it was.
Second, this side by side comparison really shows that ultimately the game didn't change too much graphically beyond the fact that they gave it more color. It's not as grey toned as the first, but the improvement is so minimal that ultimately you have to go through it with a fine tooth comb.
Is this to say that the 360 is maxed out? Maybe. But not necessarily. Gears 1 was pushed ...
Without a doubt in my mind, I think an Apple console would fail for a lot of reasons. One, it's Apple. Steve and Apple are known notoriously for wanting to be in control of their systems for 100% and this will not fair well with developers that would want root control of the system to develop for that Apple probably will not allow. Second, also tied to Apple's nature for wanting absolute control, I'd imagine that peripherals would ONLY come from Apple. No logitech equipment or any of our fa...
Guns N Swords, you mention a few good games, but none of them stand up as console sellers. Halo and Gears of Wars are arguably the only games the 360 has that will sell consoles. But, you're looking at PS3 late this year and early next year (and in June) and you have MGS4, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo5 (the full game, not prologue), Final Fantasy, Killzone 2, God of War...etc. And for 360, as far as system sellers... you have..> Gears of War 3 and POSSIBLY Fable 2. Whi...
The only part of the article that I don't necessarily agree with is the Games part. He mentions that the 360 will have the best overall games, yet he doesn't mention anything beyond Halo. And, from what we've seen in various articles over the past few months, as it stands right now, the PS3 has the most exclusives in the near future.
As far as online, that's something that I think the Xbox will continue to dominate in and there's very little that Sony can do about that. Sure, Ho...
A lot of what has been said is true. Is GoW2 the first to use the Meat Shield? Not by a long shot. Is Epic being given credit for starting something new? I'm sure there are a lot of people out there with short memories, so they will probably say yes. Take joy in the fact that your intellect last longer than yesterday and don't worry about other people. A lot of games are given credit for things that they didn't necessarily start and GoW is no different. Everything is just a product of their...
