wont happen. As long as developers have the option of lowering the resolution and fps to get more performance out of the system, they will. You may see games at first at 1080p 60 fps but come year 2 of the system, you will start to see varying results.
Unfortunately, the only way you can ever guarantee that you will always have 1080p 60fps games is if you buy a computer because the developers can't lock the resolution and fps down due to varying hardware builds.
While I wouldn't complain if they had a web browser, I just don't see the need for it. I have a computer and have never found myself in need of using the web browser on the system. What time I have spent with it has been extremely clunky because of the controller.
Really loved this game, though I think Act 3 was thrown together. The story segments in Act 3 are great but all the little side missions and the layout of the area were horrible. They should of just used act 3 as a direct means to continue the story instead of trying to squeeze in just a little more playable hours.
Nope, but the dlc from steam can be used with it. :)
I want to pick that up and a copy of Castlevania as they are both on sale real cheap. Other than that, the steam sales are great and yet again, I've spent way too much on them.
The game wasn't half of what it is now when it was originally supposed to be released. It's a good thing it was delayed. You really don't know how much it has changed and how many extras have been added.
Hackers didn't get the game. Someone with access to a build of the game (more than likely a contract developer/tester) and leaked it.
Best Buy currently has Fallout New Vegas for sale at $9.99
PS3 has a ton of great games. Not all are exclusive. When you look at the PS2, it was the same. You need to look past the Sony only games.
MS just like Sony makes money off of every game released on the console. MS doesn't have to make its own games to make money off of the games that are released for it.
This wasn't the same event. The only thing hacked before was their forums. This is a case of someone getting a hold of one of their old builds and putting it online for people. It is a pretty old build. We can tell by the bugs we see in it that were resolved a while ago.
I've seen the game running in front of me. Looks amazing. Really surprised to find out it was the console version I was seeing.
Just look at the sameraten demo from epic and cryteks direct x 11 demos. That should give you an idea. There are devs that have said while they don't have final hardware they are already building resources based off direct x11 hardwae.
This isn't too uncommon. My wife currently works 12 hour days mon-fri 8 hours sat-sun every week for the past few months at Epic. We have friends at RedStorm and other game studios that have similar crunch periods.
The issue has been addressed with the whole EA debacle but when employees across the US started to try to form a Union afterword, studios started firing employees and hiring contract workers instead. This put a stop to that very quickly.
Please note the...
Did you read the article? He basically said if Gears 3 was running on the new UNREAL engine they used to show Samaritan, it would look movie quality. How does this have ANYTHING to do with other games? He even said the 360 is keeping them from doing this (duh) because it doesn't support dx11.
It blows my mind why people are talking about other games looking better. It's just off topic.
What does Uncharted have anything to do with this? Where does it come in? They said if Gears was running on the new dx11 UE3 that they showed Samaritan running on, it would look like a movie. I just don't understand why you post Uncharted says hi. It doesn't relate.

The majority of the comments here are off topic.
But the article isn't about business practices. It's about replicating community interaction in the same way Blizzard does with it's forums and conventions and other community driven events.
Blizzard's community is amazing. Even if you ignore the games all together, if you just look at the community, you will not find another massive group of people who get together to talk and discuss the games they love all under one little umbrella all from one company. They are doing it right and a lot of developers are looking to replicate that.
You have to realize something though. He doesn't just mean games here. Epics number one source of income is their Engine. They are happy to break even on their games because the games are more marketing and hype for the engine itself. The Unreal Engine community that Epic has is massive and there are some very dedicated users there.
I'm excited about
Dragon's Crown, Uncharted, and Gravity!
You can't guarantee 60fps on every game. Because of fixed hardware, developers will push the always try to get more performance out of it by sacrificing in other areas. Mostly AA, fps, or resolution.
Only PC can do this because the hardware can change that plays the game. Game code is adaptive to the hardware so it will run as well as the hardware lets it.
