I'm pretty sure like with Orange box, if the prospect of sales was great enough, the publisher and valve would let an outside dev port the game to PS3. Hopefully this time better than what happened with Orange Box.
Why would you want to play it on the console anyways. I mean really, all of Valves games are tailored for PC and just aren't as great on consoles.
Only on N4G
The above commentators are trying to compare the two, stating which is better.
"You haven't tried U2's MP & SP, have you?"
Man, I hate people who only buy the game to let the title screen movie loop over and over. They never get the full experience of the game.
Did anyone else notice the two Dolor signs above the silhouette of Alan in the Alan Wake logo the guy used in his article?
seriously though. I would love to see a decent sequel to Xenogears. The original directors of the game had a huge story planned for it spanning 6 games, Xenogears actually being game 5 (I think). An entire universe was planned however they left square, and joined namco where they tried to revision the idea in the xenosaga story. There they were gonna retell the story planned over 6 games however due to poor sales (and honestly poor quality) they only released 3 games. The 3rd, being the best s...
Is it just me or did anyone else think, western executive producer, Dave Hoffman, Project X, BMX, Dave Mierra BMX game???
I wouldn't pay any more than 50$ for it, and that is only if there are some really compelling/ interesting implementations of it used in games coming out that still let me use my controller.
Not a single person on my friends list is playing RDR for PSN but 9/10 people online last night on live were playing it. Might just be type of people that are on our friends list. The people I have on my PSN list are RL friends who I also have on my live friends list and people I met playing Warhawk/Resistance. People I have on my live friends lists are RL friends and people I met playing Halo 2/ 3, Gears, COD online. Different tastes based off the games that are being played?
Well, no matter how you look at it, this is just not good for anyone.
"Are you American by any chance?
I'm just trying find an explanation for you lack of basic geographical knowledge! "
LOL that is a goo....oh wait.... :(
2nd party is a company that isn't owned by Sony but has agreed through contract to be published/ only make games for Sony. First party is actualy a company owned by Sony. Just using Sony as example. Because from software makes other games for other consoles it is third party.
Actually audio can be compressed fairly well with minimal loss. Hell RDR has tons of audio and a huge open world and is on one disk. It's the cgi that eats up all the disk space. Tons of it. If versus used all in game graphics there wouldn't be an issue. Square also seems to like using really old poor quality video compression. There was a good article explaining how square could of fixed the resolution of the cgi and still saved more disk space by going with a newer vido compression ...
Demon souls was published by Sony. FromSoftware owns the rights to Demon souls. Think of it this way. You want to make a game but you don't have any money or not enough and you have no way to actually sell it. You come to me. I lend you the rest of the money you need for the game and I take care of selling the game for you. We agree that I get what I put into the deal plus 15% of whatever the game makes. Do I then own that game? Not unless that was part of the agreement, which wasn't ...
Legend of Dragoon 2??
I am also a JRPG fan. My friends are as well. Half of my friends don't own PS3's but only 360's. I own both. They were super happy when FFXIII came out for 360 because they have owned every new FF game that has come out since FFIII on SNES and wanted to play it. I don't see what it hurts to allow more people to play the game. Besides, I don't buy into the whole idea that the 360 gimped the PS3 version at all. SE said they were shooting for a different experience with XIII....
The game has gotten very positive reviews and most everyone who bought it enjoyed it. The game becomes even better if you try and not think of it as a traditional FF game...cause it's not. It was meant to be streamlined to give a "rollercoaster" type experience seen in "western FPS games" like MW2.
SE said that they were shooting for something different when they made FFXIII. They wanted to capture the same type of roller coaster feeling people get from games like COD:MW2 which is why they made it as linear and as fast paced as they did. They streamlined the experience to try and match that experience. Unfortunately this caused a lot of grief from fanboys that don't like the fact that its different from other Final Fantasys. It's a good game. Just don't think of it as a Fina...
They don't need FFXIII to sell more consoles. The people who would bought the game for 360/ bought XIII version console will prob purchase Versus XIII as well. It's really up to square. They now know about what they can sell if they take that path again.
With that information they can rationalize which choice is better for the direction they want to take. At the end of the day, SE can't make games if they aren't making a profit on the games they are selling.
I'm telling you, the reason all these should be big announcement games are being shown before E3 is because new consoles are going to be announced at this years E3. Why announce stuff for current consoles when you are trying to devote the show to the next new thing?
DS3, PSP2, PS4, 720, Wii-HD all this year at E3 is what I think.
The PS3 Move and 360 Natal will be marked down in price and marketed against the Wii-HD. It's a brilliant strategy because...
