5 out of 7 of these are primarily online shooters...I don't like calling the 360 a "shooter console" but you can't deny the fact that shooters are always dominating the sales for the 360...

Whenever a 360 fan brags about sales it's always "pfft, Halo/Gears/L4D/CoD sold that much in a hour/week/month". Take Mass Effect for example, one of the best AAA games on the 360, sells a respectable 2million copies in it's lifetime. L4D2 comes out and outsells it in two weeks. Another example would be Forza 3, the 360's best exclusive by far this year and it gets outsold by a Halo RTS and an expansion pack - wtf.
And I own both HD consoles by the way.
But it goes to show that PS3 owners are more varied in their gaming and won't just flock to the same genre all the time.
Yeah it's funny how no one has actually defined what "year of x" actually means. Is it how many games? Highest rated games? Most consoles sold? YoY sales? All of the above?
If it's console sales then it's the Wii.
If it's software sales then it's the 360.
If it's highest rated games then it's the PS3 (after 2007).

GT3 was released in 2001 when the PS2 userbase was around 25 million sold and went on to sell 15 million copies.

Like asking him to name a 360 exclusive that has sold around 5 million copies that isn't Halo/Gears. This is where 360 fans fail, they label every game a flop that doesn't sell millions of copies in its first month when in reality only 2 games on the 360 have done that...Halo and Gears.
Any games that sold as much as MGS4/GT5P that aren't Halo/Gears? No. So despite Uncharted 2/LBP/Killzone 2 and Resistance selling at least 2 million copies, they're still flops but Mass Effect/F...
Uncharted (while a fantastic series) isn't a heavy hitter, it's a brand new IP...and GoW hasn't been released yet. The only heavy hitter Sony has released so far is MGS4 and that's on it's way to selling a respectable 5 million copies.
MS on the other hand has already released their heavy hitters (Gears and Halo) and these are the only games that sell more then other games. You'll see fantastic numbers by Sony's heavy hitters (GoW3, FFXIII Versus and GT5) when they're released,...
