I agree. The game looks strangely entertaining.
Crysis is a good shooter that was highly under-rated for being a good shooter.
But if you have a game like Resistance 2, it does make it seem pointless to pick up a shooter that's pretty much equivalent...like Crysis. Then again, for everyone who didn't buy R2, it would be cool to have Crysis on the consoles.
I always thought it was the Gears characters that helped make it as famous as it is. If people liked playing the game online, i don't see why playing created characters of the same type would be any worse.
