Why is the PS3 having such a tough time selling units?
The biggest problem with the [hardcore] gaming industry is that it's always fad-based. A game that breaks the mold is a make-it or die project, and very few companies are willing to risk that in the hardcore market. So a lot of developers find it safer and more convenient to compete in the casual market.
We know about Huxley...But Huxley is starting to seem a little dated in comparison.
Halo 3 did eat into movie sales even though it wasn't a movie. So same-genre doesn't necessarily mean that that's the only way for a game to compete in sales or popularity.
What's funny about LBP being on the list? That game will freaking own! It's going to do to the industry what the original Mario did.
In fact, I think LBP could be compared to Mario and hold its ground.
What the heck happened to the BFG? I think the last we've seen of it was Doom the movie. And that movie stunk like a pile of ten-pounds of cyber-demon crap packed into a two-pound Doom trooper helmet.
This game will be delayed like twenty times and will never lose steam. In a way, that kind of makes me want to play it.
There's been five consistent days of news on Borderlands.
If you compare that info with what we know of KillZone 2, then yeah, it does account for a better game.
News is getting published really slow here. Why aren't some of these more interesting stories being approved?
I think I agree with you.
But gaming journalism has been like every other form of journalism in the past, which is why it is the way it is now.
I think when you look at all the ridiculous stories that's so easy to come across on the net (regarding games/gaming news) then it does dampen the effect of real gaming news. But Gamepro, Game Informer, IGN, Gamespot, 1up/EGM, and all the other big outlets (excluding the blog-oriented news sites like Kotaku), usually co...
They're at least covering something new in a very worn out era.
It was kind of stupid that they let you carry so many guns at once. Then again, the weapons do wear down and break.
It would have been nice if they had a weight restriction on the amount of guns the player could carry.
Getting tired of MGS4 commercial. It seems like its hype won't end!
What happened to Just Cause 2?
Monolith...you are the very reason why every other country in the world has a reason to hate America.
Unless EA is going to get a lot more creative with their stale ideas, I don't mind them going away for good.
would be smart to pick the ugliest game for a Haze comparison...that way Haze would win. lol
It is a heck of a way to hype a game, but it only makes Haze and Halo look that much better. I'm sure people will flood in here saying "this game sucks" and "that game sucks". But who cares, as Zhuk pointed out both developers have pull and in turn both games look cool.
People are all in a bustle, but Halo 3 was never bad-mouthed the way people are making it seem. It just makes me more interested in both Haze and Halo 3.
Dude...seriously, it was not casual gamers who made those games popular.
There's also a difference between casual gaming and the influence of the casual market.
Yes, a lot of casual gamers did go out and buy games like Halo and GTA, but it was because of the influence and strong following of hardcore gamers that branched those games out there for casual gamers to purchase. How many casual gamers will you find on Xbox Live, trolling away at COD4 or SWBF2?
