simple, story is excellent. voice acting is superb, you get emotionally attached to the characters, the easter eggs are some of the best in a video game (remember in MGS3 where if you save the game after naked snake gets beaten, and then turn it off and then back on, you play that awesome mini game?), the plot twists, good gameplay, and a lot of things to do.

good games, reliable hardware (my number one rule for electronics), strong hardware (graphics chip, processing power), good multimedia features, good customer service, user friendly, good online, updates and fixes, and more good games.
i can't stress hardware reliability enough. if i buy a tv and it burns out, i immediately look online to see reviews for the same tv and if i notice a lot of people that are having the same issues as me, then i will never buy the same tv again....

now that you mentioned it, didn't killzone 2 get a 9/10? funny now that you say that as killzone 2 was made by a european development team. now i'm interested in what games edge/eurogamer rated highly.

i agree. if i were to give a rating for bad company 1 when it first released (for example) i would've given it like a 5/10. i had no effing clue how to play the game right. i didn't know where the enemies were shooting from, i couldn't understand how to kill people, everyone always did some kind of air strike or camped in the tanks; my first time playing bad company was a cacophony of cluster f***!

bad company is pretty effing sweet. i never gave it a chance when it first came out, but now i love it. i think its a lot better than any cod game ever made even though it has some problems.
i hope bad company 2 fixes the slight damage delay. i can't stand that. drop off a high ledge in BC1 and see how long it takes for your character to register it's damage.

now that i think about it, this is how gears of war should've originally been. a female protagonist akin to Private Vasquez or Lieutenant Ellen Ripley from Alien, a mixture of Major Kusanagi from ghost in the shell, and some bad assery from Sarah Conner of Terminator.
that would be sweet! female protagonists are hardly seen in shooters but some of the most bad ass movies/shows has female protagonists (Alien, Terminator, Ghost in the Shell, etc.)

not big into MMO's, but i will say that reasons 1 and 2 are so me. i don't like time restraints when paying online. i feel like i have to get my money's worth so i force myself to play games. same thing with game rentals. one time i bought like 7 games during the middle of a rental of cod waw and i had to force myself to stick with cod since i only had it for so long.

i saw some microsoft products in there. another thing to remember is that sony is primarily a hardware manufacturing company where as microsoft are predominantly software so obviously you're going to come across more sony products as they make a lot of hardware technology. i am surprised that they didn't list HDDVD.
