Had a feeling the game would be average. I don't agree with a lot of Angry Joe's reviews but this game is blatantly generic. Its nothing you haven't seen in another shooter that had time manipulation mechanics.

Its not broken or unplayable but its not a masterpiece.

The games seem to be in a HP Lovecraft universe.

@Realms

Dang, I thought it would be this year. Oh well, I'm guessing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be GOTY. Can't wait until Mass Effect either.

@BlakHavoc

I think TLG will be like the last two ICO games. They will be cult classics and regarded for high cinematic value and an emotional story line. It will probably be a tragedy that will be more appreciated as an art form.

It won't gain the sales or popularity ...

Yeah, same here I need to see more. It would've been cool as an MMO now that I think about it.

I'm still iffy on Horizon. I'm glad GG is experimenting with a new IP but I don't know if I like the overall premise to Horizon.

It seems like it will be an RPG/hack n' slash but if they're like the Killzone games it might not have enough content and be barebones.

On that note I would like for a new Killzone game as well at some point.

Game of the Year Contenders:

Uncharted 4
Mass Effect: Andromeda (it WILL be epic, my personal GOTY)
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (can't wait!)
Final Fantasy XV
The Last Guardian
Gears of War 4
No Man's Sky (major potential here)
Dark Souls 3
Re-core

These are realistic game of the year contenders in my opinion, at least at the moment until more games are announced at E3.

i'll admit some remasters are good. some games actually look pretty impressive with upgrades. but i can't help but feel its a cheap cash grab . i want new games and new IPs mostly.

"I thought MGS5 suffered greatly from having Sutherland who sounded like a grizzly alcoholic"

He probably is a grizzly alcoholic, just like the rest of the untalented and overrated Hollywood actors out there. Sorry but I think movie/tv actors are some of the most pretentious people around.

Do you realize how many voice actors go into a game for different dubs/translations? The world doesn't revolve around the English language so of course you're going to have different casts when doing different translations. I'm sure anyone in the entertainment industry (especially in animation) go through this a lot and see voice actors coming and going a dime a dozen. Most of them aren't celebrity status either to be honest.

Hayter didn't voice Big Boss in MGS4. In fact I think Hideo explicitly made sure there was a different voice actor considering that Hayter was voicing Solid (Old) Snake in the same game. He clearly wanted to make a distinction between the character's voices.

Watch Cowboy Bebop. That show demonstrates that a good voice actor can make a character iconic. Spike wouldn't sound right in the English dub if wasn't for Steve Blum. Same thing with Sean Schemmel for Goku. Their voice, tone, inflection, and dialogue play a huge factor in their personality and character.

Yes, well only a few of them.

The doctor and Lois's dad sound exactly the same. Even Stan from American Dad sound the same. If you want to be anal then Peter, Roger and Ted sound very similar as well.

Its because the gameplay is dated. Newer games have better third person shooter mechanics than Gears. Gears feels archaic. It looks good though however.

When you say GOW4 you mean God of War 4? If so then yes, people are indeed wanting a new God of War game. It would be...godly.

I'd rather smoke crack than play Crackdown. That game is a joke. The fact anyone thinks that game is going to be good is humorous. Quantum Break is the only game that looks mildly interesting and I wasn't too impressed with Alan Wake on the 360 (although Max Payne was really good.) Gears might be good, but its not GOTY material. Very overrated series in fact.

@kraenk12

Of course they're going to hold off on a PC announcement.

What MS is going to do is rack in as many sales as possible as a console exclusive with the bundles then when the sales stagnate they announce a port to the PC. Will give the Xbox a sales boost that's for sure.

I can already imagine people raging on the forums when that happens.

I somewhat agree. Gears 1 was impressive for the original 360 because it was an early launch title that showed what the system was capable.

For its time, it was easily the best looking game which led to high attach rates and online matchmaking with early adopters of the 360.

A few years later and you realize it was a pretty standard third person shooter that had its novelty with its noticeable graphical leap. If anything it was more of a tech demo. Gam...

Crackdown 3 is a joke. Gears is "meh" but I do like the tech they use in their games.
