This was honestly one of Sony's worst conferences. Out of everything they showed that actually had a release date/window, only one was an actual PS4 exclusive (the Uncharted spin off). The rest was DLC (Horizon) and third party games (CODWW2, Destiny 2). They focused way too much on VR, again with nothing releasing this year. And they didn't go in depth about anything. They basically just pulled up a YouTube playlist of trailers and added some stupid, overwrought stage effects. I have...
*wary
Weary means to be tired, wary means to be cautious.
Literally what it was always supposed to be. An optional, premium upgrade for people who wanted to pay more to get better graphics/framerate/general performance. Exactly like an updated graphics card. Exactly like the PS4 Pro. Not really surprised Kotaku joins the ranks of sites that didn't listen the fifteen times Phil and co laid out exactly what the Scorpio was since last year's E3 though.
RE7 was one game, Doom VFR looks terrible. If the floating hands don't bother you, the extreme motion sickness will.
It looks like Destiny with jetpacks and a bigger world. Just another attempt at trying to make a non-mmo mmo. Which bored me. Especially from a company like Bioware. They should have stuck with single player focused narrative experiences instead of this.
He's right not to commit to it. VR is still untested as a way to have true AAA games, especially on consoles. It's decent for puzzle games and great for non-gaming applications, but it's still way too early to push it as the future of gaming.
Great? It looks boring and generic.
Good, someone should. Especially since Bioware's apparently abandoning single player stories to focus on ripping off Destiny.
Lol, more fake news. At this point, there's no reason to believe a single story that's posted anywhere until it can last a week without needing to post a correction.
Very reasonable. Anyone expecting a premium console to be anything less is an idiot.
So, after delays, Feb-March 2019?
No, they don't "cheat" because there's no contest. It's a trade show. That's it. Which conference "wins" is totally subjective. Sony does have a bad habit of featuring games that are way too early in development, though, and that makes me, subjectively, enjoy Sony conferences a lot less than MS and Bethesda, usually.
I'm glad this article finally mentioned the sales surge for Black Ops 2 and RDR. It's sad how partisan everything has become in modern society, to the point where people have to try and crap on a feature that's useful and consumer friendly just because the massive corporation they've decided to throw their lot behind claims it's pointless.
Wait, is that bearded guy with the terrible haircut the main character? I hope not, he looks awful, like a modern day hipster instead of a early 20th century doctor. Also, is this still coming out this year? The lack of "2017" or "coming soon" is disturbing.
The Order was full priced and didn't have an ending. Also, it was marketed as a full AAA experience, which, for a third person narrative based action shooter, is usually at least 9 hours, and most of the time longer than that. The devs for Hellblade have been very upfront about this being a shorter experience than most modern major studio games. Totally different situations, and The Order was still a glorified demo.
About right for a 40 dollar, narrative focused game.
Nice to finally see some real stats for this.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of games in the near future that would be perfect for the Switch that will never be on it.
All I read was "this one particular guy likes the concept and the fact that it isn't $60 so everyone should buy it". I mean, it looks interesting, but don't say everyone should support it because you think it's cool.
"I left our chat convinced Microsoft's play with Xbox One X is not that it will be home to superstar exclusives - rather, it will be home to the best versions, perhaps the definitive versions, of the biggest multiplatform games."
I don't understand why you needed this interview to get this. It's been said before. Multiple times. Does no one read interviews and articles written by anyone but their own site anymore? Because the amount of people who still...
