This is not an example of why not to buy at launch, this is an example of why you should be an informed consumer and choose the option that makes the most sense. It was obvious from announcement that XB1 was overpriced at $500.
When you don't buy at launch, you only hurt the product's future. Look at Wii U. The vicious circle of Gamers not buying into a console because it has no games, developers not making games for system because install base is low... rinse and re...
Yes definitely, but for how long? And also this puts Xb1 in the red for MS in the UK doesn't it? MS said they absolutely would not go in the red with XB1.
So why not come right out of the gate at $399? MS said in the beginning with XB1 they WOULD NOT go into the red on each system sold. Now they are... I just see this as a business move but not for the sake of gaming, but for something else.
Next gen deus ex confirmed already and in the works. I'm guessing (hoping) by the A team at eidos montreal.
Some people want the game to fail and nitpick everything about it, some people want to play it and have fun.
@slaphappyjesus no no I'm not saying it doesn't deserve it's criticisms I'm just saying from DAY ONE people were nitpicking this game beyond belief. Some people were absolutely going to focus on the negatives regardless of the final product. All shortcomings withstanding I cannot believe this game warrants a 3.5/10. And yes, that kind of score shows th...
This move sounds extremely desperate... almost like they're trying to inflate install base as much as possible so they can extract some more millions when they sell it off. I mean did you see Sony dropping PS3's price 3 months in and giving everyone Uncharted for free?
So this article title implies Xb1 runs faster at 900p... is that true?
Has to do with the engine optimization than the hardware. Look at KZ running at 45fps at 1080p and compare it with this game...
Who knows... early price cut saved the 3DS. But hard to imagine though with the XB1. I know for me as a consumer, not even relating to gaming, that when I see a price cut SO soon out of the gate, that tells me something isn't going well. Especially if the competition doesn't budge on their price. That's why iPads cost what they do and MS's surface tablets keep dropping in price. Bad sales lead to price drops. Consumers know that.
seems to be getting mixed reviews. I've watched quite a bit of this game being streamed and I'm still excited for it. Looks right up my alley. I don't expect to be floored but I always like a slow quiet stealth game.
Never understood this claim. Cloud has nothing to do with it. Games get tied to your account when you buy them. PS3/360 does it. Ps4/xb1 does it. Steam has been doing it forever...
It's not "stored in the cloud" it's tied to your account. Uninstall a game and want to reinstall it? It's in your library.
@izzy408 ... $109 for a 1tb hybrid drive. That's not near the price of a console, that's near the difference between an xb1 & a ps4.
next gen starts with a game that is identical to it's 360 version.
Like several have stated, it's all personal preference. As long as people buy the console in which has the exclusives THEY want, then all the multiplat games will be enjoyable regardless.
it's true... no matter how the game actually turns out, there a lot of fans of the original that were going to hate a reboot regardless.
I actually recommend going and watching videos of the first game and then you'll see how they've advanced the series. Often nostalgia makes people remember games being far better than they actually were.
These guys made DX:HR, had their hands in the new tomb raider and IMO, the new the thief game is looking so very awesome. I trust these guys when handling beloved franchises. They haven't let me down yet.
You're holding off on a ps4 because of sony fanboys on this site?
I... what?
Fanboys run both ways my friend. Just because PS4 is the more popular console (and therefore more fanboys) doesn't mean they're worse than any other fanboys.
I disagree about there not being a lot of games, but I do agree about keeping your old system.
If you bought at launch you may not experience such large backlogs eh?
