Tricky decision for MS. Sales for H2 weren't very good considering how well received it's been. Do they get more sales by putting it on PC and make the XB1 less valuable? I bought an XB1 for the exclusives, certainly not for third party games. So if their 1st party stuff starts hitting windows then I'll just get games on my PC.
Just like PS4 isn't replacing PS3.
Edit: It's simple if you aren't blinded by fandom and nostalgia. They're having enough trouble getting consumers to take the leap with Wii U, why would they introduce a new system and neglect it by supporting a system that's struggling so much? They must go full steam ahead with whatever they introduce or it'll end up a muddy mess of neglect and empty promises. Do you really expect Iwata to say they aren't going t...
Boy IGN Is ALL about the glass half full articles these days. Just waiting for "Why we're excited for the potential demise of video games" article.
I wouldn't say nintendo is waking up... they're still dreaming it's the 90's and that third party games don't carry that much weight.
Looks terrible. Every player looks the same. Why bother making montana in a football game when the character looks like a beefed up cornerback. Oh well, I'm sure it plays well. But we all know it'll flop. People don't buy madden to play with generic people and teams. The whole appeal of madden is now the madden ultimate team mode.
perfect project morpheus title
Ironically, I think it was it's exclusivity to XB1 that doomed it from the start.
What's there to talk about? it's a novelty game where you can make an infinite number of extremely mediocre mini games.
Ever watch the comments flood in when facebook moves something? It's a common thing with UI. People don't like change.
Or... Mattrick was the suit MS felt would make them money and after that fiasco they genuinely decided to give the guy who was in touch with the real world a shot because even a blind person could see they were DOA.
This guy has single-handedly turned me right around on the xbox brand as a whole. That being said, it's scary to have an entire brand riding on the back of ONE person. Or rather it's scary to only have faith in one person at MS. If he goes, so too will my interest in xbox (again).
This is actually totally wrong. It's not Nathan Drake they can't kill off, it's Naughty Dog. ND has proved with last of us that THEY sell the games. It's their reputation that instantly puts ANYTHING they do in the must-have-and-probably-GOTY-ca ndidate category. They're one of the few developers that can do what they damn well please because they're Naughty ****ing Dog.
For exclusives, yes. For everything else coming out? No. Stuff sells on ps4, plain and simple. MGS V is a multiplat release but honestly, it will basically be like a PS4 exclusive in terms of sales.
I'm guessing this means a high score? You wouldn't do a cover like that for a 'meh' game right?
They need to start from scratch. Just build a whole new engine, recycling absolutely nothing from previous games. I think I speak for most people when I say we'd gladly wait an extra year for dev time for them to do this. Revisit no mercy and HCTP and really study -- on a fundamental level -- what made those games so endearing and long lasting. They're focusing too much on presentation and subtle animations and not enough time on FUN gameplay. It needs to be fun.
So the order would've been a better game simply by being on vita? no... it'd be the same. Only with terrible graphics and abysmal sales. I really feel bad for all of you wanting Vita games but I think you need accept that this race is no longer about portable devices.
@Dmd that's not great sales wise. Infamous, for example, pushed a little over 2 million worldwide. Infamous would've sold more had it gotten better reviews and likewise SO would've sold less had it not gotten such favorable reviews. Basically 1st party games aren't selling well on XB1 right now. Forza 5 sold poorly and horizon 2 didn't even push a million on xb1. Driveclub by comparison pushed over 1.5 million. Again, reviews favored the XB1 exclusive and again it underper...
“On the DX12 question, I was asked early on by people if DX12 is gonna dramatically change the graphics capabilities of Xbox One and I said it wouldn’t. I’m not trying to rain on anybody’s parade, but the CPU, GPU and memory that are on Xbox One don’t change when you go to DX12. DX12 makes it easier to do some of the things that Xbox One’s good at, which will be nice and you’ll see improvement in games that use DX12, but people ask me if it’s gonna be dramatic and I think I answered no at the...
This game doesn't need 60fps in my opinion. I'd rather them focus on the most amazing looking 30fps game ever and dilute the graphics for 60fps. It's not a racer or a twitch shooter so make it beautiful.
That's why it's tricky though. It all depends on if they're investing in gaming or in Xbox (not the same).
