Given that Sony already has a collaboration in place with IMAX and their movie studio for PSVR, plus NASA collaborations, also they fact that they have released HMZ -T1/T2/T3 head mounted displays, I think it's a safe that it will also have the capability of being used as a simple HMD for non VR games, and BR for movies.

I actually think that we may not see a price cut here in the US and the rest of the world because Sony may keep the price as it is to cover for this Japan price cut.
For some reason, my guts tells me that we won't see a price cut until January of next year, which would keep the momentum going until Uncharted 4 gives it another boost. Then comes PlayStation VR with NMS bundled with it, and GT7 later in the year around September/October.

I want to agree with you but I don't think we will get such an announcement until PlayStation Experience this year. Maybe a slight chance for Paris Game Week? But it seems that would want a huge audience and the sole focus on PlayStation, and PlayStation Experience is the only event left that gives them that exlusitivity without either of the other 2 big guys there (Nintendo and MS).

I agree and disagree with some of your points.
I think exclusives actually matters a lot, but the things people want the most are options and variety.
For instance, there are people who only play FIFA games or COD games only. Yet most of those people would be very reluctant to buy a console that can only play FIFA or COD games and only and nothing else. Though they may not be interested in other games they want to be the ones making that choice for themselve...
Umm... The Xbox One will NOT make up any grounds agaisnt the PS4 this fall. Sony has already sold 7 million PS4s so far this year, compare to 2.5 million XBox Ones (approximate numbers). Meaning that Sony has already sold more PS4s than Microsoft will Sell XBox Ones this year, assuming Microsoft can sell 4.5 million XBox Ones between now and December 31st.
Secondly, I'm confident that bat sony will give the PS4 an official price drop of $50, and ummm...there may be shorta...

I agree with your point that the gaming media doesn't really respect its fans and try to pit us against one another on a daily basis.

I don't really get this notion of PS4 has no AAA for the holidays.
Last holiday, Halo MCC was considered to be a big AAA exlusice. Why is the Uncharted collection not getting the same treatment? And they also considered FH2 and SSO as big exclusives when those games are still struggling to break a million each almost a full year later.

I still don't get this concept. Every where I go and every online forum say the same thing "gameplay>graphics&quo t;. Yet somehow, when it comes to Gran Turismo, almost everyone would rather have LESS cars = less gameplay, because said cars would not be as graphically impressive as the premium cars....

I don't think Sony would ever someone dying while using one of their products as a positive. They've been in business too long and know that the backlash would be severe and could bankrupt them.

2. RROD from Last Gen
3. Lack of support for XBox orginal and XBOX 360 in terms of first party games.
4. The actual install base of 360s sold last gen was never close to 80 million.
