no they can't... Steam is a privately owned company... EA already tried that
I wouldn't call Steam "good" competition... they certainly have good sales, but their software is pretty crappy.
cloud compute isn't marketing speak
There is no potential about it... when the two only real competitors are both doing the same thing the "potential" becomes a reality. This IS going to change the game business forever and that's a good thing as far as I can see. We can't stay stagnant or the idea of consoles will go away in the next decade or so.
these new consoles will be big for PC gaming...lifting the floor up at a faster rate
I have not played UC4 yet... making my way through the first three games now... but RoTR is one of the best games of the generation... that you're getting it for 30 bucks probably with the phenomenal DLC likely thrown in is fantastic for PS4 only owners
wonder if we'll see Chrome or Opera on the system
you can really tell where they messed up... but the story campaigns you can start playing at 60 are so worth it
there is a ton of gear... they fixed a lot of issues with the console version... really wish it was cross play... would like to play my Xbox characters on my PS4 with my PSN friends
No... it's actually the opposite if you're savvy enough... play the market on Zen and Astral Diamond trade and you can be sitting pretty... I've turned 10 bucks of investment into well over 100 bucks by playing the system and buying keys and selling them for astral diamonds...get VIP it's the 10 buck investment that will pay for itself in a week
it's not as bad as they make it out to be... the reference design isn't the same as what you'll buy from Sapphire and other 3rd party companies...
if you don't like it get the two port versions... you should be buying from sapphire and other companies anyway... the reference design wont be available to most consumers
All your stuff is in the cloud even your save games
I can get behind this
I wish
it's simply easier to get a demo up and running on a PC... these are PC as well so chill
I like Cliffy, but he's being an contrarian on purpose... he already develops games for a huge verity of hardware configurations... not sure how another set of hardware specs running on the same OS he's developing for now will matter that much
This is the kind of statement that really ticks me off... you're saying that the 3 foot and 10 foot experiences are the same... I have all three and I play all three and at times I play one of them for long times exclusively. They are not mutually exclusive. The idea that I can play a game on my PC then pick it up on my Xbox when I just feel like chilling on the sofa is something I don't think you truly can appreciate until you've experienced it. For a hard core PC gamer it is ...
most of the people on here are deliberately uninformed... like yourself... you're gaming PC is running Windows I'm sure... will you buy those Microsoft games? If you do you're buying them from the same store as if you'd bought them on the Xbox... and if you got a Xbox Scorpio down the line you'd have all those games. How is this not choice? They are not forcing you to buy the Xbox to play their games... that is what choice is after all... the ability to choose how you w...
it's not for them it's for us... especially in games like Neverwinter... there is literally 0 reason not to have cross play on that game
