Yes. But those old buyers may come back when they realize there will actually be games worth getting on it...in a few years.
Well like usual im pretty sure MS lies about their subscriptions too.
How many are month to month? How many are for a year...whats the average lenght of a subscription? I know many individuals that only subscribe for 1 month at a time depending on games.
There should also be separation of gamepass on console vs on pc.
Not enough data to know any of this for sure.
As far as your pricing argument...so why are digital games priced...
58 million for Xbox One consoles. Yeah. That sounds about right. Too much if you ask me considering the lineup of exclusives it had.
48% new business in the Xbox series s market is pretty significant. Assuming 10 million series s sold that would mean almost 5million new Xbox gamers. That'll likely increase because of the Bethesda purchase.
Every single Xbox series s which is dirt cheap is geared towards the subscription service.
Stop spouting so much pro gamer common sense!
Some "fans" despise this type of talk.
@tacoboto
Thats only because they switched gears.
Xbox One would have been the Wii u scenario if not for removing all digital, always connected and Kinect.
The wii u had a marketing problem.
Wouldn't showing how much it's worth to PlayStation actually help PlayStations cause? You know if other companies generate a lot of money from call of duty and then this platform holder wants to buy it... Not sure it was accidental...
Microsoft can afford gaming...Xbox can't. Lol
Props for admitting it.
It's simple math. The fact that so many here deny simple math blows my mind.
If game prices need to go up that means costs are up. That means, can't believe I have to say the obvious, games need more to recover costs.
So how is it viable for me to pay $10 to play a $70 game vs paying $70 for the game that cost millions to make?
Now if I pay $10 and then spend $100 on micro transactions that would help the game make money...but this means ...
@asplundh
Not the point I'm making.
Which has a greater base? PlayStation.
We already know that Xbox pays developers to launch exclusively on gamepass and skip other services.
If it's actually great for developers to launch on gamepass then it would be even better for them to launch of ps extra...this would push ps extra more and has far greater potential.
They don't do that because Microsoft for...
As if people don't remember the Xbox one launch. They think...it's a different Xbox now...how innocent they are.
Whole lot of stuff has come.up during this time that we can't even believe. Good thing we don't need to make it up anymore. It's plain for everyone to see.
Yet to hear the xbox "fans" complain...this is the problem.
You know why you're wrong?
Would a company choose to go on a service with less players or more? Why would they opt for gamepads over ps extra?
Makes no sense...one of them has a bigger audience it can reach
Isn't the argument that Sony keeps games away from xbox? The other way around not exactly the same they just bought a bunch of third-party developers to keep games away from PlayStation...
Nobody is arguing at all that Microsoft shouldn't have exclusives. First of all that is their own argument that exclusives are not good. And secondly we have always been saying that they need exclusives but nobody ever said they need to take games away from other people and buy up the industry in order to get those exclusives. They don't need to do that they have the money to develop new studios and create more IP they can invest in the industry instead of taking away from the industr...
They've got an enormous amount of developers. They do not need more to succeed all they need now is quality exclusives and quality new ip. Then they can do the same thing that PlayStation does and then people would actually purchase their console to play these exclusives. They're going about this the wrong way and they're doing things backwards. You get the developers and the IP and the creative talent first you don't create a content filler program and dump everything in ther...
Well that's not exactly true. If you grab examples of bad games yeah that would be problematic. They do all of their advertising for a timed exclusive launch. Then when they're about to release on another platform they barely do any kind of advertising. It's not so much that people don't care is that they don't even realize or it's not being advertised. That or is also that the game isn't that great to begin with. Rise of the tomb Raider was okay but not mind blow...
So much for PlayStation keeping games away from Xbox.. more and more it appears as if it is up to the developers after the agreement ends.
A bad thing happening isnt somehow good because other bad things may happen otherwise down the line.
Thats an inconsistent position.
MS shouldnt be allowed to continue buying up developers at the rate they have been. You may be right but if the deal is allowed there really is no reason to not allow smaller deals...and quite frankly almost any other developer is a much much smaller deal in comparison.
