Another expansion pack sized game getting an almost perfect review. I think there is a serious disconnect between reviewers who get all their sh!t for free and have too many games to play vs. customers who actually have to spend $60 + tax per game and want more content for their money.
Bringing up story in either of those games is kind of stupid. Neither game has any story to speak of. Their just a bunch of random levels slapped together to create a game. LBP did fail in the gameplay department for me. That physics based platforming was annoying and glitchy. But LBP did offer a ton more value for the money. This Mario game could have probably been done on the N64 without the scaling of course.
You cant compare EA or Activision sales to a small niche publisher like Atlas. I mean their best known series is probably Persona and Persona 4 sold about 110,000 life to date sales so far. For DS to sell 150,000 the first month is a big win for them. I mean its not my type of game, I'm more of a story-driven RPG player but props to them and I hope it helps bring other titles that would have stayed in Japan to the US.
Its 2 games on one disc that take about 25 hours to play through. And its the same price as someone who was looking to pick up both games seperately on the PS2. Anyway this collection wasn't meant for everyone to buy. It's meant for the hardcore God Of War fans or PS3 owners that don't have a PS2, never played the series and want to do catch up before God of War 3 hits.
A side from the 2 hard drive deals which are very good I don't see much here.
@1.2 I have no idea how they can tell if someone changed the heatsink or what not. Maybe if the aftermarket cooler is pulling more power from the system then standard? Or maybe they can detect that the dvd-rom has been unplugged and reseated?
As for the HDD I believe each one has a unique key built into the drive's file system. When people hacked it to put in their own drive they all downloaded the same key or something to that effect.
BTW is it confirmed that th...
You guys do know that he is talking about Wii software sales being weak and not the system right? But yeah I would say it's weak on both counts. I remember Riccitiello saying last year that EA bet on the wrong horse with too many games in development for PS3 and 360 and not enough on the Wii. This guy did the worst thing a gambler can do. He second guessed himself and is paying for it now.
I'm surprised there are any mom and pop game stores left.
"Infinity Ward has yet again shown itself to be a master story-teller".
Say what? I don't remember a damn story point in COD 4(or any COD game for that matter) besides one of the character's dying or something. COD is about action, period. You can almost find more story in a Mario game...
He's basically saying the awesome power of the Wii lets them zoom the camera in and out so people don't have to be cut out of the screen if they are lagging.
You didn't use those exact words but here is what you did use "I don’t think using tape to make sure the DVD drive won’t move really isn’t the smartest idea." Its the screws that keep the drive from moving not the piece of tape. You tried to do a hatchet job on MS and now your getting called on it. Man up and admit it...
The tape doesn't hold the drive down. Its the long screws you removed earlier that are connected to the top portion of the lid. The drive legs are hollow and the screw goes through them...
The yellow is for Europe and Japan. Red for US. I hope SCEA doesn't drag their feet on this. They left titles like Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank at full price in the US almost a year longer then Europe...
Walmart and MS are probably splitting the costs. Otherwise why wouldn't it be $100 gift card with any console? That would surely bring in more customers. Some of you are really naive to think manufacturers never work with retailers on sales. Heck do you people think Gamestop makes all that free crap they give away with preorders themselves? No they get it from the publishers.
Its good that the PS3 slim has been able to stabilize in the 30k-40k range since its introduction. I honestly expected it to drop back into the 10k to 15k range as it has done in the past.
Geez this thing looks like its barely playable with a duo core...
Its selling to small children and women as a interactive exercise tape or instructional video. But hey if your in that demographic then that's great for you. You'll have a steady stream of licensed crapware like Food Network: Cook or be Cooked, Dora The Explorer, The Biggest Loser and Disney Princesses. But for most people visiting this site the Wii is pretty much dead as a system for "traditional" video games.
But I thought PS3 = Dreamcast = 3DO? Could all of those stupid bloggers and so called game journalists have been wrong?
Yep I'm in no hurry to upgrade either, got my 260gtx about 2 months ago for under $80 after rebates. Should last me til this gen of cards are under $100.
I wonder how many of you actually read the article. He's saying its extremely hard to find an unmodded 360 in Indonesia because its not available there officially but Sony has just launched the PSP and PS3 there. So the choices for online play are either travel to another country to buy a 360 or buy a PS3 locally. That's why he said it was good for Sony.
