Lower prices of its consoles. If they lower the X1 to $199, I might consider getting one.
The form of consoles will definitely change. Optical drives will eventually give way to all-digital platforms. Physical game media will disappear. With no optical drive and few (if any) moving parts, future consoles will be much smaller and essentially be another small set-top box.
It was my intro to console racing with GT4 which helped inspire me to retire as early as I did. :-)
Looking forward to Tuesday. :-)
How much did MS pay for this ad?
Both WRC5 & S.L. Rally Evo were both disappointments, so I'm really hoping this one will be decent.
Yes, MS is the problem, and has been for a long time. It's been a problem of their corporate DNA pretty much from the start. Thank goodness there are alternatives. :-)
Given the high level of difficulty in DC, it's not exactly a surprise the game didn't sell as well as it could have. You can't set the bar so high that most of the people who would like to play and enjoy the game are essentially shut out from day 1 because it's too frustrating to play. The level of difficulty needs to be REASONABLE, otherwise word gets out quickly that the game isn't worth playing.
PSVR FTW
I had early access to the beta - pretty cool. Picking up both this and Sébastian Loeb Rally Evo next Tuesday. :-)
Next Tuesday!
No complaints from me - take my money already!
Looks ok. Most of the recent Need for Speed releases have been pretty underwhelming to me. The one racing title from EA I have enjoyed in recent years is Real Racing 3. If they were smart, they would enhance the graphics and port it over to consoles - pretty certain it would be a huge seller for them.
Maybe
Rather than trying to make an upgradable console, I think they should instead plan on switching over to a new, more efficient and cost-effective console design that uses mobile based internals as opposed to current console's desktop PC internals. Mobile chips are quickly catching up to the power of desktop chips. Just concentrate on making a simple, efficient, inexpensive console w/o a disk drive that's truly worthy of the 21st century.
They are catching up very quickly. And with set top boxes from Amazon, Apple, and Google as well as Emtec's upcoming GEM box that all play games, PS4 & XB1 could get displaced fairly soon.
Real Racing 3.
Depends to an extent on your definition of "real game". Real Racing 3 looks pretty darn good (especially on higher performance devices), and can be connected to a TV and played with a controller with many mobile devices. And its career now has over 4k separate events to compete in. I'm not sure there are any other racing games with as extensive of a career.
Like Real Racing 3.
