And it's not very good.
I don't think most of us are underestimating GT Sport - I think we're seeing it for what it is. You said it yourself - it's multiplayer focused and doesn't have a traditional campaign, so it's the exact opposite of what many of us want. Yes, driving feel is important, but GT doesn't have a monopoly on that and it's not the only factor for most. I expect Forza Horizon, Gravel, NFS: Payback and The Crew 2 to all have decent feel, and give us decent campaigns, and ...
I've played Forza on 360 previously. I think the AI can be a little overly aggressive, but other than that, my experiences were ok. GT is abandoning longtime fans like me, so I don't feel I really have a choice.
I'm a longtime fan of the GT series, but since they're essentially doing away with the single player campaign, I'm planning on getting a X1S during Black Friday-Cyber Monday, so my vote is for the Forza series in general. Already bought PC2 - lots of tracks, and not much else. Both FH3 and FM7 give you extensive campaigns and lots of cars that you can upgrade, so lots to keep you busy. Actually looking forward more to playing FH3 with it's lush open world. Can't wait t...
Sounds good - PS5 is only a couple of years away anyway.
They don't want to talk lifespan because they know XB2 is likely to launch in 2019, but if more people knew that, X1X would lose sales.
Not hardly - there really isn't much of a visual difference between the two. I'll be picking up the X1S during Black Friday-Cyber Monday for $200 or less, and will be happy to save the $300+ not thrown away on the X1X. That will be $300+ ready for the XB2 which will probably get released in 2019.
One more reason I'm glad I'm not getting an X1X.
I wouldn't pay a premium, but it's something I would love to see. The new Apple TV 4k might be a pretty decent game player with its upgraded specs. Looking forward to seeing reviews of this aspect of it.
It only puts the prices of both in the perspective that they're both overpriced. Just because a $1,000 phone exists doesn't mean you should buy one. There are an abundance of decent performing smartphones running Android 7+ for well under $100. X1X is a little better than the X1S, but it's twice the price, so really a pretty bad waste of money, especially since XB2 will probably get released in two years.
Each has its niche. I've been a fan of Playstation and Gran Turismo for years, but I've also owned the 360 and Wii in the past. Sadly, GT appears to be abandoning its roots and looks to be focusing pretty much on multiplayer with GT Sport and future titles, so I'll probably switch to XB1 and the Forza series going forward. Also saw that Codemasters is bringing the full Grid Autosport game to mobile, so if they're able to do this successfully, mobile platforms may become a v...
True, but I think they have to be more concerned about saving the Xbox brand in general which obviously isn't doing very well at this point.
Time for a price cut MS!
While I do think the X1X would be a bad investment for most, I think the X1S is a decent value at it's current price, and will be a better value during Black Friday-Cyber Monday when it's likely to be priced at $200 or less. They may not have a ton of exclusives, but at least for those that like racing, I think the Forza series is a worthwhile exclusive to justify buying the console for, which I plan on doing in a couple of months myself.
Save your money and wait for PS5 or XB2 in 2019.
At least they have Forza, so that's something.
Nope.
Yeah, because xboxenthusiast.com is completely objective, right? Give me a break.
Sorry, just not seeing the "value", especially compared to your own S. The comparison videos look a little better than the S, but not twice as good. Those who value their bank accounts should save the money for XB2 which will probably debut in 2019 anyway.
Demos for both have been out.
