Well here in Australia Game were flogging off the old elite models for $259 and EB had Old elite models with 2 games for $324 and pro for $299.
Not really surprising both retailers are doing deals to clear the old stuff to make room for the new 250 gig 360 which I was lucky enough to score 1 of 3 left at my local EB.
SO far a vast improvement in the noise department.
Um actually you only have to open the SixAxis controller and its a simple procedure to replace the battery as I got one of ebay for a few dollars.

Well HDD which was a choice and not needed and the PS2 Ethernet Network Adapter was only needed on the FAT PS2 as it was built into the slim PS2 systems.
Yeah mate I don't trust Microsoft much either more so not because of the 4 dud's I had but the crap service from there so called service center when trying to explain the situation to someone who barely understood english.
I'll be sitting on the fence for 6 months and see what happens before I purchase this one.

Yeah I know the feeling mate and even if there is a slim coming out I wont touch it for at 6 months and even then after 4 360's I'll more than likely get a second PS3 for the bedroom instead of living in fear of another round with 360 hardware.
