That's just clucked up. :)
I'd rather download a movie in HD that take a risk on a format that may be obsolete in a year or two. The potential for downloadable HD content is enormous...maybe Toshiba and Sony should focus some time on that.
Wow. Impressive video, but one question: How much of that was the game engine, and how much was pre-rendered?
Still, I hope this bodes well for a 2008 release. (crossing fingers)
Memo to MS: Japan looks like a lost cause. Sorry, but Japanese gamers don't seem to be interested in the 360. Focus on Europe and North America, because that's where Sony has traditionally been strongest (other than Japan).
And, keep the games coming. The only way to counter Sony's solid 2008 lineup is with games that are good enough to keep attention focused on the 360.
I've also heard that any lot number greater than 738 is a Falcon, though I've not seen independent confirmation of that. But the power supply stat seems to be a pretty good benchmark. Here's hoping that the dreaded RRoD is now a thing of the past, or at least, a lot less frequent.
A couple of friends who recently replaced defective systems have told me that their new 360s are cooler, and a lot quieter.
If anything positive has come out of this whole debacle, it ...
Uncharted is...uncharted. WTF? Maybe people armed with gift cards and brand-new PS3s will give it some love after Christmas. Ditto Ratchet, and Mass Effect, which is doing well, but I expected it to do better.
And it looks like UT3 for PS3 is only doing marginally better than the PC version. Not enough advertising? Or has the UT series run its course? We'll see what happens when the 360 version comes out.
Look at those 360 software sales...almost more than the PS...
Let's not forget that you can shoot him not once, but twice, to gain power-ups in the first Serious Sam game.
Could it be? The world's most (in)famous vaporware actually materializing into a real, playable game...in our lifetimes?
(Plus, it will give Croteam plenty of bad-joke ammo for the next Serious Sam game!)
Always remember to take anything said by a major corporation--gaming or otherwise--with a big, big grain of salt. These are some of the best examples of foot-in-mouth disease suddenly striking otherwise competent people.
(BTW: Okami-to-Wii: Thank God.)
You'll get better answers if you post in the forum...maybe someone else has had the same problem and has already posted.
EDIT: Ooops: My dumb@ss. Now I see: This article seems to imply the Playstation brand (PS2+PS3+PSP), and not just the PS3. Yeah, 33 million is not unreasonable. The question is, what will Sony do once the PS2 is no longer viable?
I've played every one of the nominees...and I'm trying to decide which is GoTY...and I'm weighing their merits...and I'm thinking that either R&C or Uncharted should be nominated...and I'm considering the total kick@ssness of each of those games...
*BOOOOOOM!*
(head exploded from trying to decide)
Mass Effect has made me its b*tch. I'm completely hooked.
Done. Thanks again.
Isn't that what it's supposed to be about? The GAMES.
One of my favorite games for the original Xbox, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, barely sold...but it ranks as one of my favorite games of all-time.
If the game appeals to you, buy it.
"Salt in the anus..."
Or sand in their vaginas...to quote from South Park. :)
Seriously, I agree with both of you: Why isn't this selling? After suffering through months of bad ports and half-@ssed efforts, PS3 owners finally get a couple of great, AAA games...and then, they don't sell. WTF?
That's a damn shame...PS3 owners, BUY THIS GAME!
I finally got to play it, and it was one of the better gaming experiences I've had this year. Other than some minor camera issues, it's a quality gaming experience, and should be doing better.
First Ratchet, and now this...can anyone give me a valid reason why it's not selling? Maybe the boost in PS3 sales will help it in December and after Christmas.
If not, well...Naughty Dog could always port it t...
Agreed. I love the game, but that's a pretty stiff price. My Best Buy store has been sitting on the same seven copies for about two months.
Now, if we mark them down to $60, I'll buy it just for the helmet, which is pretty cool, BTW.
Competition is good.
'08 will be a great year for gamers...just like '07.
Hope this means they'll add achievements at some point...even 200 would be good, although a full 1000 would be great. If so, would it apply to disc-based games that are also available for download (Halo, for example), or would you have to buy the download to get achievements? In other words, if they add achievements to classic games, would I be able to pop in and use my well-worn copy of Halo to garner gamer points, or would I have to get the download?
Just a thought.
