Well, this is all speculation to a point, true if MS saw that making the Kinect bundle mandatory hurt sales, they would un-bundle it, but I'm not sure this is quite as dramatic as people think. MS had been hearing it for a while, and considered it, and did it...but at the same time, while I haven't seen the numbers, all indications point to the fact that PS4 didn't sell that much better in April than XB1. The ONLY mention that I can see from a legit source that even hints at PS4...

Congrats to Sony, it is really selling strong. It also appears that Titanfall is no worse for the wear for being a MS exclusive.

Where did you get the 2:1 number? Not saying it's wrong, but where did you hear that...2:1 is easy to believe being that it's in 5Xs the number of countries and that would account for 155k...but Infamous isn't even close to outselling Titanfall, that bit is way off.

Wait...you guys don't have to like Titanfall at all...not a big deal, but you do realize that it's FAR outselling Second Son right? The Xbox One version alone is about a half mil more sold tha...

What's actually odd is that PS4 keeps selling more consoles, but XB1 keeps selling more games...maybe the lower price point really is important. Does anyone actually have the numbers somewhere that I'm not seeing? The Xbox Software article has their numbers, but I haven't seen the numbers of each consoles sold...anyone know where I can look? May will probably be slow for MS, but June should pick up a bit...then September will give them a boost as well.

Yeah, agreed, not sure you'd need to drive in this one. I'm even on the fence about driving the Bat-mobile in the new Batman...could be great, but if it's anything like the past games, might be unnecessary.

I never knew this was an issue, but it's good news for those that had issues with it.

I disagree with all those opinions, and the power thing hasn't proven to make a difference yet and looks to make less in the future. There's my opinion

Can we please stop with the fanboy nonsense-type articles? Articles about will XB1 be better or worse without kinect being mandatory is one thing, but saying early adopters were stiffed is a loaded statement. I don't feel the least bit stiffed about having a Kinect...everyone that I know that has yet to get an XB1 says they will get the kinect version, it makes navigation a breeze, it's extremely accurate, it will most likely play a crucial role in AR/VR tech, and in this day in age...

I don't fault MS for trying to push the tech and advance gaming. It truly is an awesome device, I wish more people would give it a chance (giving the first Kinect a chance isn't the same thing). I don't game with it much, but when I do I'm impressed how well it works, but I love all the other features it gives me and with UIs for these systems getting naturally deeper and more complex, it's nice to be able to do all the navigation in less than a second without ever picki...

This really is the biggest no win situation in history of gaming. They keep the Kinect bundled with every Xbox...then it's "I wish I had a choice to buy it or not, it shouldn't be forced on me"...so they actually listen to feedback and offer another OPTION where it's not bundled with...now "gamers" have turned to "they are spineless" "the lost faith and killed Kinect" (actually not even true) and "MS has an attitude problem". Al...

Its not dead... why do gamers blow everything out of proportion? Now its an option that will have to prove its worth

I love my Kinect, but I understand that not everyone does. So killing it would have been the wrong move...making it an option is the right move.

Not necessary. I love my kinect, no regrets

This isn't like needing to give away free games for an inferior network

All these opinion pieces are a waste of time. You not knowing what is going on isn't the same thing as MS not knowing... Please stop trying to make drama out of nothing

As of yet they havent abandoned it...just made it able to be sold seperatley.

Ms didn't, they are still selling it. Its people that fear what they don't understand that have...MS is a business and has to cater to their audience, they can only push tech so far. Its actually a shame people aren't embracing it, its actually awesome tech, and I don't even game with it...but I'm glad I have one. I think if people gave it more of a chance and learned how to use it for more than 30 minutes they might change their minds.

So...MS continually does what customers ask after a botched attempt to deliver last E3 ..and this equals an attitude problem? Comcast,Apple, and Sony (other than gaming division) are companies with attitude problems that continually stick it to their audience. The real attitude problem here is "gamers" that can't see past their own hate. All the systems have great and weak points, I love all three, but I admit I like my XB1 the most. When fanboys complain about XB1...then MS fixe...

Death of a bigger picture for MS? No, once again "gamers" are actively trying to kill off a tech that they are afraid of because they don't understand it, yet it could actually be great for them. Kinect is actually rather awesome, I find it hard to believe that those calling for removing it have spent any real time with it. MS had to make a business decision, plain and simple. They tried to push the tech and advance gaming but gamers aren't ready. I love my Kinect, but I un...
