I thought it was because the 360's lifetime was coming to an end and MS was just getting read for their next gen console. But then the Xbone came out and continued the trend.

I though Mankind Divided was disappointing to the previous Deus Ex game. The biggest problem Inhad with it was when you shoot people they didn't recoil. They just kept going on about their business (shooting back at you) as if you were shooting them with airsoft bb's.
That's always a huge pet peeve for me in shooting games when they do that.

By no means am I defending MS for selling consoles with the Red Ring. No way in hell.
I'm addressing Purple's faulty claim that that is the only reason they sold so many consoles. He's claiming that because people's consoles were faulty they were then buying multiple consoles giving the illusion that the system was selling more than it did.

If people really bought multiple 360's because of the Red Ring of Death then they are idiots. I owned 4 different 360's last gen and each time they got the Red Ring I called MS and they had me ship it back to them and they sent me another console for free.
So selling faulty equipment shouldn't have any bearing on their sales because they always replaced them at no cost.
