Poor optimization?
I'm playing on my launch PS4 and I've yet to see any bugs. The only issue I've had is on planet Kashyyk. The game stops for a few second sometimes to load the next area. But ONLY on Kashyyk. I'm guessing it's because that level is a rainforest and there are tons of things constantly being animated and moving around that it bogs down the game. There is texture pop-ups during cutscenes and menus which is annoying, but it doesn't effe...
I've been playing all weekend. I'm not sure how that works. I suppose if you spend no time exploring and know exactly where to go, to get the abilities you need to get to where you need to go to move the story along then it can be done?
It's set up very much like Metroid. You can't do one thing unless you go somewhere else and unlock the ability you need. Then backtrack and do that thing you needed. But as far as Combat, you really don't upgrade your st...
I have no interest in this game either way. But fetch quests on their own are not a bad thing. But when a game is entirely made up of one type of mission, it's generally considered bad. For instance, if a game only consisted of missions where you go to an area, defend something from incoming enemies, and then press a button, it would get complaints also. (Like Destiny or Anthem)
It isn't about the type of mission so much as a lack of variety in missions. Sure, Skyri...
I don't know. There are always people complaining about product placement in other games...
I do agree that Dying Light is an amazing co-op zombie game and in the long run it does offer much more.
But L4D is a totally different experience and type of game. It's very hard to say you won't play one because you have the other.
That's all anyone can hope for. That EA will realize they can make money from single player only, story driven games with no MT's. Enough to at least have them make more of these style games. Keep the CoD and other MP cash grabs all they want. They obviously make money from them and they clearly have an audience, as crazy as that is. But they also need to realize that they can draw in even more customers with these types of games as well.
Devoid of soul? That's a bit much. It may be ripping things from other games, but personally I've never played a game with Uncharted/Prince of Persia style platforming, Souls-Like combat, and Zelda-style puzzling. The fact that it has all these things rolled into one game makes it a new experience for me.
Kingdom Under Fire definitely looks to be the new titular game when it comes to these things.
The question isn't "what happened to Fallout", but what happened to Bethesda. And the answer is simple. They have different people running the company now. I don't remember the name of the company that took it over (I thinknits Zenimax, or something like that?), or the name of the guy calling the shots now. But essentially, another company took over and Bethesda is now run by greedy businessmen that have no interest in pleasing fans. Only making as much money as they can.
You're not a "full blown Jedi". You're a Padawan. A Jedi in training. You're considered a Padawan as soon as you begin your training, before you even learn any Force Powers or make your first lightsaber.
Even Obi Wan in Phantom Menace was a Padawan, but he was ready to be a full blown Knight. He just hadn't taken the trials yet. So even he's not a good representation of a Padawan.
Padawans are not overpowered. They are still ...
@rainslacker
Yeah, well the funny thing is Death Stranding was at least polarizing in its reviews and even people playing it. This doesn't seem to be like that. It looks like people who have actually played it generally like it quite a bit. Across the board.
But you're totally right. There were people hating on this game since the first gameplay reveal. Saying the combat looked boring lol. Mind you, these are likely the same people that praise Dar...
The really sad thing is that EA is 100% capable of releasing great games with no monetization. Even when you look at their monetized games, they are still well made games overall, aside from the poor tactics to push players to spend more money. But at the core, their games are generally pretty good.
So when I see them constantly pushing out these cash grabs year after year it really sucks and I refuse to buy them. But, in the rare instance that they release something like ...
Nah. Most of the hardcore EA haters are downplaying this game simply because of EA.
And I hate EA also. But I also recognize the importance of supporting something like this. This is the first pure single player experience with no MT's that EA has put out in over a decade as far as I know. They need to be shown that if they release a quality game with no anti-consumer monetization then they will still do well.
I'm sure it won't matter though....
And the fact that this character's model is based on a real life actor makes his comments even worse. It's not like they created this character's appearance from scratch. Yet here he is talking trash about this guy's appearance, which is something he can't control any more than someone being born a different race...
Then why is he even bringing it up? This is a person in real life. It's not like they purposely made this character look similar to Peter Parker in Spider-Man.
So almost all the reviews are giving it 8-9/10 and 4/5, yet IGN are shills on this?
I get it, IGN is not the best place to go to for reviews. But it looks like they got this one right considering the vast majority of other reviews seem to agree. It's also sitting at an 84% on Metacritic, which is really nice.
Reviews are opinions, man. If you played this game and think it's a 7.5 then that's fine. Nothing wrong with that. But it looks like mos...
You realize the main character is an actual real life actor right? He looks how he looks because that's what the guy in looks like in real life.
Unfortunately you're right. I wish you were wrong, though lol.
Bethesda has made some legendary games in the past and built themselves up to be one of the heavy hitters in the industry. Unfortunately, most people, outside of people on forums that follow this stuff, don't realize when companies go through big changes.
Look at EA. They were known as one of the best video companies around back in the day. But that seems like forever ago now. They'...
It's not a matter of one bad game.
For one thing, they have been releasing games with bugs for a very, very long time. It's been a running joke for years.
Second, 76 is easily their worst game. But what worries everyone is how they keep treating everyone. They haven't learned. Literally every week there's another story about something crazy that Bethesda did, despite all of the extremely negative press and feedback. This game has been out ...
It has difficulty settings though. If you want it to be as hard as Dark Souls you can play it on the hardest difficulty, because it is VERY hard.
