I'm pretty sure the Faction Wars mode is what you're looking for. Its multiplayer, and the name alone suggests it will be PVP.
What about Mass Effect 3? They didn' plan kn making that DLC that expanded the ending. Sure, they did it because fans were pissed, but its the same thing.
Basically, anything that gets added later as an afterthought is fine with me. Its the day one DLC's that really piss me off as those DLC's were clearly ready at launch and are almost always on-disc.
I think you need to learn what aesthetic means. Maps are not just aesthetic. In multiplayer games like halo, CoD, Battlefield, and so on, maps add new environments to play in that extend the gameplay. No one wants to keep playing the same 5 maps forever.
Guns and characters do the same thing. They give you something new to play with in the game that actually keeps the game interesting. Like adding characters to fighting games or new guns to FPS games.

I must admit that I'm not the best when it comes to numbers, but why on earth would Sony sell the only area of their entire business that is returning a large profit?
If they were to sell Playstation off, sure they would get a one time, large amount of money. But all their other areas of business would still be tanking. So again, why would selling the Playstation help them at all in the long run?
I don't have a problem with this at all. I usually play through the single player campaigns of games before jumping online anyway, so I can at least know whats what before getting my ace handed to me.
