What do you mean there's never trade in programs toward new consoles? Maybe not on Sony/MS's side, but Gamestop offers very reasonable console/hardware trade in amounts if its toward a new console coming out.
They did it with Xbox One, PS4, and also Xbox 1s.
My buddy traded in his PS3 controllers and games and it totally paid for his PS4.
If there's no trade in deal I'll wait for a price drop. I'm not spending more than $300 on another console. I just spend $400 on my PS4 2 years ago.

The only reason I'll be getting this is because my 360 got the red ring of death shortly after I bought my PS4 2 years ago. So I wouldn't mind having the whole series.....minus Origins, that is.

Me too. I don't get why that game got so much hate. It was fine. It may have had some glitches but the few I came across were hardly game-breaking.
Other than the occasional glitch, it played exactly like Asylum and City. Were people just being harsh because Rocksteady didn't make it?

I was fine with the exploration. Its why I got the game.
What I wasn't prepared for was how barren and similar looking everything was. Repeated elements like the building with the slime organism that overran it appearing on every planet.
Same looking creatures. (I saw the same looking T-Rex-ish creature on 3 planets. The only difference being a horn on the head of one, which wasn't on the head of the one from 2 plane...
I'm still waiting for that Tekken x Street Fighter game.....

To be fair, NMS is very deceptive in the first 10 hours or so, depending on the quality of your starting planet.
Its great until you go through about 4 or 5 planets and realize there's nothing else to it.
100 hours though? No way. Thats a long time for a game to keep you entertained if you don't enjoy it. Its just not realistic.
It doesn't matter if you decided that you hate a game after playing it for 100 hours.
It still kept your interest for an insane amount of time. You were still provided with 100 hours of entertainment that you at least enjoyed enough tonplay that much. It doesn't justify a refund.
I don't ask for refunds if I go see a movie and end up not liking it, and going to the movies is far more expensive for a couple hours of entertainment than a $60 gam...

I'm not saying a lot of what you said isn't true, but lets not forget that a lot slaves were sold or traded into slavery by their own people.

They just came out with Metroid Federation Force. It may not be the Metroid game people were asking for, but a fanmade Metroid game has potential to hurt their sales.
To be fair, the Wii-U flopped for completely other reasons than Nintendo pissing off fans. It flopped because it came out at a weird time during last Gen, it wasn't an upgrade over what Sony and MS already had out at the time, and it didn't release many compelling games.
So I ask you, what other "classy" ways could Nintendo handle these situations? Please enlighten me.
