In no world is it okay to go into a professional business call and make that comment. I'm a project manager for one of the biggest banks in the world. I spend 50%-75% of my days on conference calls. I've never heard anyone be stupid enough to make that kind of comment.
So what exactly are you saying? That when PS5 and Xbone 2 come out they will be getting destroyed by the Switch's sales, so much so that it will be difficult for neither Sony or MS to compete? Because that's what it sounds like you are saying. Which is completely ridiculous.
You should take down these walls and made up rules of which company is taking part in which "gen". Go ask MS or Sony if they are happy that the Switch is potentially keeping customers...
Sure, the WiiU was created to compete with the PS4 and Xbone. But let's not pretend for a second that the Switch isn't competing with them also. They are both out and selling at the same time. So they are competing. Just because this is Nintendo's 9th console (I think?) doesn't mean it suddenly doesn't count.

Not trying to be a prick so please don't take it that way, but have you played both Destiny 1 and 2 in depth? Because the weapons and armor actually does do this.
Any gun you get in Destiny games will have it's set stats (range, impact power, stability, etc). Then they have their perks. But each weapon has a set perk that never change...
Not necessarily. It could be downloadable content, kind of like how Battlefield 4 and many other games released gun packs that automatically unlocked all pistols, or all assault rifles. Or how The Last of Us sold specific guns.

Loot boxes were never accepted and a lot of people were never okay with them.
Battlefront just blew the whole idea of Loot Boxes out of proportion because they took it to a new whole new level by creating a game that had a progression system based entirely on spending money.
Games like Overwatch were not viewed as too egregious because you only unlocked cosmetic things. The progression system was not base...

You're talking semantics. Yes, Battlefront 2 launched with no ability to pay real money. But the game was designed 100% around nickel and diming the community with a pay 2 win system. So much so that it would have taken literally 1,000's of hours to unlock everything in the game without buying loot boxes.
Not only that, but the ONLY reason EA took away the pay option is because of the amount of backlash the community gave them when the bet...

I was with you for most of your comment. You aren't wrong in saying Smash has not evolved. At least not in any huge way. Having said that, games don't always need to evolve. Smash is successful because it is what it is. Not because people want something different. Smash is fantastic as it is. Just keep adding characters, stages, and modes (which is exactly what every new iteration does) and it will be great.
