Well, the Diablo 3 LAN removal was based around giving people cohesion of the gameplay. since the characters are stored online, it is confusing to have multiple versions of multiplayer. I guess you could say the same about SC2, you'll have your win/loss lists online, and all your favourite maps, possibly, and god knows what else.
Perhaps LAN is truly obsolete?
It's been up and down out of the grave for ages, actually...
Well, it wasn't "great", but it did have a charm, and a little Diablo-feel to it. With more polish, it COULD have been great, but it wasn't.
Sometimes (always, really) you'll find that polish is what MAKES a product, it isn't just something you put on as an afterthought.
Besides free lodging, food and limo everywhere they want, this is "all" they get...
Again, he's the second highest paid, so it doesn't get better than this. I mean athletes can get more.
You should see some of the matches, where girsl are screaming and almost fainting... Scaaary.
Hehe. Harsh words, but true, most likely. Or you would be a colleague of Moon by now ;)
I'd imagine they won't close many more now. Those 40 was probably a big chunk to resize, and work better. With people more densly populated on the servers, I'd imagine people find the game mroe fun as well.
Heh. With WoW around, it's really hard to see anything below a million to be successful.
I also heard 40. Where did you hear 60?!
Yeah, their CEO or whoever it was tended to sound very smug, but I just ignored that, since it was very unlikely they would really beat WoW...
Well, can't be that close to breaking point with 8/10 ;)
You're saying that she was hired then fired? Or was the deal never fulfilled?
Oh, nm, read in teh article...
There are less people engaged in this "controversy", but I think that's mainly because D3 has more fans in the West.
I got the impression that a majority of players want the older voices back, even if there is a group that don't care. Very few or none liked the Jim Raynor from BlizzCon 2007/2008 anyway
The chance of this being a PR trick to create more hype is very unlikely...
So, what IS the framerate then. I can really go ahead with 20+ and not feel any detrimental effects, personally.
But this one works ok?
They probably used that design in order to have a smooth playtesting. Remember they started this like 5 years ago. Even power PCs were a lot weaker then!
Really? If I was the art designer, I'd be really happy to let my true skills out rather than going with "comicy" stuff..
Same here. I was never part of that generation. I agree that events like DreamHack are cool, but it's more of an event than the social thing, right?
