"Imagined"? I don't think so. ActiBlizz is laying off many workers as it rakes in profits hand over fist, in pursuit of even higher profit margins. That's utter disregard for their own employees and people in general. I'm not naive. I know corporations exist solely to make money. That doesn't let them off the hook when it comes to evaluating their worth to the society that provides them the infrastructure and protection to succeed, and which should always impos...

No, sorry. It's not about how quickly these games can be "consumed" if played linearly once. Some games will keep your attention for much longer. A few will grab you, and won't let go for months, or even years. (I'm playing through multiple iterations of Borderlands 2 right now, with Salvador, Gaige, and soon Krieg.) Movies and shows are passive entertainment. After you've seen them, you've seen them. Interactive entertainment is a whole other story, given...

@UltraNova: That's the case with movies and TV shows already. Publishers (e.g., Disney) are splintering off into their own streaming services. If you want to have (legitimate) access to absolutely everything, you need to spend hundreds per month on multiple services.

Yeah; it would be immensely more powerful than either of those systems, and it should emulate them with ease. The BIOS belongs to Sony, so using it is not an issue. Licensing is another matter. I don't know what deals Sony made in the first place, and whether they would already cover this situation. (Probably not.)

I only care about PS4 compatibility, namely because I skipped it entirely, and the PS5 may be my way into its library.

I never cared very much about the PS3.

The article links the near-perfect fan translation patch. That's all we really need. To be 100% legit, buy the Japanese cart, dump it, patch it, play it on an emulator, or use a flash cart to play it on the GBA.

I have to confess I still don't know what that reference is about. I figured I'd pick it up by context eventually, but nope. I haven't been interested enough to search for it either.

Kinda obvious, isn't it? When Europe was in the Renaissance, and featured several naval powers, people in some other continents were still at the tribal stage. Guess who conquered who.

Et tu, Eurogamer? Really? Dammit . . .

If N4G wants the community to stick to gaming topics, all they have to do is exclude inflammatory political pieces like this bullshit article. Yet we see them all the time, don't we?

I agree. This is not gaming-related news. It's identity-politics drivel. It should not be here. Polygon articles need more conscientious vetting before they're allowed here.

We should celebrate living in the best of times (or nearly so--I think we may have peaked a couple of decades back). Instead, we bicker about what none of us had a hand in doing, and none of us is likely to change.

Sure there are. We're native Americans. Regardless of race, we were born here; our parents were born here; their parents were born here. Enough with the identity crap. We're all in this together.

Problem is that, even if you do that, somebody was there before you. You'd have to research who your ancestral lands belonged to before your ancestors conquered it, and then return it to their descendants. You would eventually have to move to a floating barge on the ocean somewhere--that's if you don't feel you're offending the fish.

The only thing "innocent" and "Iran" have in common is their proximity in an alphabetical list.

They probably do. But what are they going to do with strictly multiplayer games if they can't log into the online services? Then again, there are VPNs, unless those are all blocked in Iran. I know China is cracking down on VPNs.

You're joking, right? I'm an old guy. I was around when the Ayatollah Khomeini took over after the Shah got deposed. Iran jumped out of the frying pan directly into the fire. Ever since, this part of Persia has been a blight on the civilized world, a despotic religious regime oppressing not only its own citizenry, but its neighbors as well, and working to undermine Western civilization.

One of the stupidest things America has ever done is destroy Saddam Hussei...

All you need is a USB cable. That hardwires and powers the controller. The data travels through the cable, eliminating wireless lag.

And, no batteries needed.

It's Retro Studios. Without that hopeful note, I doubt the community would have been so positive about the delay.

At over 4 minutes, that's more than a trailer. Part of the story told through emojis? I liked it.

That was hilarious. They tried to eliminate every Steam file, and ended up zapping "steam.xnb", a sound-effect file.
