Yes. In fact, I often wish the right stick was closer to my right hand as well, though I'd have a long adjustment period if the R stick and the face buttons switched places. Depends on the game. Many use the face buttons, but very few use the D-pad as a main input device anymore. So the layout of the MS pads is more ergonomic most of the time.

More like an off-brand Dual Shock, because of the layout.

Yes they should. Sadly, no they don't. This is why the practice of releasing broken games continues.

Yeah. They should have figured out proper delta patching by now on consoles. This is why update sizes for PC versions are often much smaller. (They do have delta patching--downloading and applying only changes to the game image from one revision to the next--sorted out on PC.)

Over 90,000 MB! Over 90 million KB!!

They forgot to include a properly working game on the BR disc(s), yeah.

It's already compressed to the hilt. We wanted 4K resolution, right? 4 times the uncompressed asset size as 1080p? 100GB+ games is what we get.

Hope and pray your job never moves you to somewhere like rural Illinois, my friend. You'll get an instant dose of unpleasant reality.

2674d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Exactly. This is one of my main arguments when discussing physical vs digital. The current reality is that you get something practically unusable on the disc. You need to download so much to get it in a proper working state that you may as well save yourself the hassle, and go straight for the download version.

If you buy the digital version, after waiting for them to actually finish the job, you'll get an up-to-date game image. No additional patches will be necessary at the same time you buy it.

Both amount to the same thing: The game wasn't complete, yet it was produced and sold anyway.

Console patches tend to have a lot more redundant data downoaded with the changes, I'm not sure why. The delta patching should work the same way on all platforms by now. Here, it seems like they're asking you to download an entire new game image.

I like well-toned arms on girls. I find them far sexier than skinny, featureless arms. I think a lot of guys here are getting the wrong impression about your article. It's not about women being stronger than men at all. I see nothing about social justice here.

In the USA, yes. This political nonsense is happening elsewhere, thankfully (at least, so far). We have enough stupidity in government already.

I actually liked Aquaman. It was a lot of fun, and everyone I came to care about didn't end up dead. Positive tone is getting to be rare in superhero movies.

Sad, isn't it?

If you mean that insipid boob, puppet of his vice-president, Bush Jr, I agree with you.

I reject the notion that all the review bombs come from organized mobs. If something gets an overwhelming number of downvotes or negative comments, the publishers or developers did something to anger a lot of people. Injecting contentious politics into games or movies is one sure way to garner much hate in written form. There's nothing wrong with that. It's called free speech. There are consequences for every act.

Yes. Except instead of the simple term "greed", let's substitute in the need for publicly held corporations to grow at a rate well higher than real inflation every year, on average. It's not just about being profitable, but about increasing profits by a double-digit percentage every year. In a finite universe, you can't have Infinite growth. At some point, growth slows down, and the business model must change, or investors sell out, and take their money elsewhere. ...

The flip side of this coin is that games have become big, publicly held business, and as such, demands for constant year-over-year growth in profits are placed on it. That growth can't go on forever, and perhaps it's reaching a point of diminishing returns? Some recent games have earned ridiculous sums of revenue in a short time, multiple times their budget, yet their parent companies declared them to be disappointing. They made plenty of money, but they didn't make all the mon...
