It should really be a guild, like the writer's guild in Hollywood. Regular workers are easily replaced. True talent is not. Once a guild takes hold, it ideally can extend down the ranks. That way, the workers can negotiate with the big companies on more equitable terms, as one bloc.
As a veteran of software and game-tech development, I can confirm that the abuses are real. The only way to curb them going forward is to give those affected a greater say in their fate...
Exactly. Thank you for saving me the time.
Sub-Saharan Africans were lucky in the Middle Ages, before Europe acquired naval power, and became capable of worldwide conquest. They were mostly home with their tribes and families, in Africa.
They exist to generate traffic by fostering division and outrage.
No, you're not too old. You're experienced enough to be grounded in reality. They're just making it up as they go along.
I'm going to assume you're being facetious to indict the nonsensical idea that minorities can't be racist.
#1: Quit attributing racism and sexism to everything, and there will be a lot less to fight about.
It was, until they made it an issue.
Yes, exactly. I should have posted my ^previous reply^ here.
That's just it. Windows is the software standard. You can't go Linux and expect everything to just work. You need to be somewhat of an expert to be able to handle all the issues successfully. Average users don't stand a chance. As a result, it will never come close to competing with Windows. Developers are going to go where most users are first.
Yes. Egregious errors like that indicate carelessness, which probably extends beyond the grammar into the substantive content. Credibility suffers.
Well, it's an 87%. Sure it rounds out to an integer 9 on a scale of 10; but why lower the precision? It's a great score, with or without rounding.
I figured it was sarcasm. To me, adding "/s" at the end of a sarcastic remark is like explaining a joke--it ruins it. Around here, though, you have to be extra obvious to avoid the end tag.
Even that isn't necessarily true. If you start with a brilliant game, and a mediocre team remakes it from scratch, you can end up with something that looks prettier and runs at a better frame rate, but totally misses what made the original a special experience.
It proves no such thing. It only proves this one game is a remake, and a remaster of the original is now unnecessary.
Distraction is the right word. When dark thoughts intrude, or something is causing high anxiety (like a sick furnace with 0-degree F [-18 C] weather incoming), games act as a sedative. But just like a sedative, they don't solve anything. I try to alternate between distraction and attention to reality. There's a good balance there, somewhere.
It's a sex game. It's supposed to arouse you. What you do after that happens is your business.
And PC! After playing the 2nd game, I really want to try this one.
Answer: YES!

This author is rather naive. Early attempts at photorealism became dated, of course. But that doesn't mean pursuing photorealism is bad per se. On the contrary, it is somewhat of a holy grail for computer-generated graphics. I dare say that current games won't ever look too ugly in the future. We've made quite a few strides since GTA III.
"Uncanny valley" is a concept that applies only to human faces. Our brains have a fair bit of processing powe...
