This should be a lesson for people to not listen to the opinions of biased journalists and bloggers and put the facts together for themselves. They said the same thing about the PS3 and they were wrong, then they did it again and people fell for it AGAIN. People really need to stop being so gullible and think for themselves.
I just got my 3DS last week and will be picking up a Vita next week. All the haters will eat their words.
I made a comment a few months ago about 3DS troll article writers EATING their words. Looks like that is exactly what they are doing. When 3DS is at 100 Million units sold and counting, they will pretend they never wrote such articles.
Also, there's nothing stopping the Vita from breaking the 100M mark either. Provided Sony really markets the thing and it's games correctly and pumps out tons of cool games.
"Handheld Console war"
You mean the imaginary one created by fanboys?
Well, it will come down to marketing and who has more appealing games as far as sales go. Not to mention price.
So, nintendo's marketing is CURRENTLY better where I live and their price point is almost a hundred dollars lower(Note:Sony's marketing seems to be improving).
You may say that the Vita is still a better deal. But when it comes to sales,...
I agree with the part about people thinking for themselves.
He's right but grammar nazis who nitpick in rude ways are annoying. Also, he was off topic. I wonder if he would talk trash like that to strangers on the street.
I was just thinking about picking up GT to test out this wheel that I have. I guess now I might as well wait for this new addition. I would love to see Sony release new versions of games like Resistance 3, that IMO, deserve more sales.
Great, I have been meaning to get this game for a while and I think this will seal the deal. I was hoping they would do this with other games too that they didn't really market correctly upon their first releases.
to me, many "professional" journalists are just as bad.
TVippy, it's called gratitude and acknowledgement.
LOL, cnet again. I wonder if people take them seriously, hm.
It is indeed all about marketing. Some sweet, highly marketable games would help as well. Like an action rpg with shields and swords, arrows, etc. Obviously bushido blade would be a hot seller with online play. There are some relatively inexpensive games they could make that with a little bit of marketing would sell millions of Moves. I'm a little bit puzzled by their decisions and how they let Nintendo launch skyward sword before they released a game with similar mechanics.
marketing
I could expand upon that and say that media (in general) is a joke. It's no surprise that gaming, becoming more popular, has garnered a more mainstream, trashy form of media. Look to the movie industry, etc.
Yes and it is plain as the eye can see. Some people live in a fantasy land thought and pretend it isn't real. Perhaps their own biases are getting in their way.
I've mentioned on here several times that the Vita's smear campaign and counter-marketing would be heavy. This should not come a surprise to anyone. It's how certain entities do business.
Well said bubz. I've said it before, rushing out the next gen will only put more stress on devs and stifle creativity and innovation. It will hurt smaller independent studios and even bigger studios. Because of the dev costs, creativity has already been stifled this gen somewhat. I think it's time to cut them some slack.
$250 is fine for now and IMO a great deal. I think they should really focus on proper marketing if they want to guarantee "success" though. By next holiday season the Vita will be down to at least $199, will have some generic FPS for newbs, along with many great games, and will be under many Xmas trees.
I just ordered a 3DS yesterday and I can't wait to have my Vita.
Viva la Vita and 3DS and may dedicated handheld gaming devices kick ass far into the future.
I'll probably pick one up eventually as well.
cnet, hmmmm....
I can't wait until development becomes even cheaper on the PS3 and we get all kinds of cool, creative JRPGS, etc. I would like to see a software library that rivals the PS2 in a few more years. :D :D
